the only thing that can save MJ's career is if he takes a step further than what prince did:

change his name, and his identity and record under it.

ROTFL.
tho' I battled blind
love is a fate resigned
memories mar my mind
love it is a fate resigned

Over futile odds
and laughed at by the Gods
and now the final frame
Love is a losing game

Forget his career. He needs to work on MJ the man first. He's obviously got serious issues.

A reunion tour with his brothers without charging $1000 for tickets. He could perform Jacksons songs and solo material NO LIP SYNCING and remind everyone why we loved him to begin with. I seen the Victory and Bad tours and he was awesome and it was great seeing him perform before his live performance became Memorex.

I heard a rumor that, just before the recent molestation charges surfaced last year, a tour promoter (ClearChannel?) offered Michael and his brothers a STAGGERING sum of money to launch an extensive reunion tour. But of course,MJ's latest problems forced the promoter to cancel the deal.

Oh of course they were before the charges. Nothing came of MJ after those charges except Sony hurrying to fulfill the contract before his trial ends

I really don't think that anything can "save" Mike's career at this point.Even if he gets acquitted, too much damage has already been done. His image has been destroyed and for the most part,it's his own fault.Even if he makes a great album, let's be honest,it can't possibly make people forget his eccentric behavior, that crazy and ill-advised documentary, the multiple surgeries, and every other MJ scandal from recent years.Fortunately for him,he still has a loyal, sizable fanbase around the world, but it's not enough to save his career.

But he's still selling tons of albums around the world each week so how does his career need saving? There's a whole world outside of America, you know? razz

I honestly think that if he's found innocent of child molestation then the majority of the public will quickly move on. He's been considered an eccentric weirdo for the past two decades and he's still managed to release three albums that have each topped 20m in that time. You forget that a lot of folk like their artists to be a bit strange. wink

Like his contemporaries, I don't think he'll ever sell original recordings in large numbers stateside ever again. Those days are over. But I am hoping that the evidence will justify the biggest release he could bring about in 2005: his own. From state custody.

I hope so, too.

There are plenty of ways to save his career, only i'm afraid he is too far gone to make it happen. I don't think he can imagine recording an album on an not-stellar budget, expecting not-stellar sales, making under-1million$$-videos, working his ass off to get some of his stage presence back; You know, working, with a realistic outlook and budget.
If the guy had the sense to scale back, work out some creative ideas (stictly music, please), invite one or two (co-)producers who would keep an eye on things, select twelve tracks, and work on them for 6 months. He would make a reasonable profit on his die-hard fanbase alone, and if he has two or three growers à la Butterflies on there that would do well on radio, plus some critical acclaim, and you could have a genuine success again.
But someone else put it correctly above: he first needs a decent ass-wooping and maaajor reality check. Because people will forgive the eccentricies (sp?), but he's not eccentric, he's just waay out of it.

1. Old face back? - Let's deal with some more realistic choices shall we?

Here it goes:
(in no paticular order)

1. Michael lends tremendous support to the 50,000 plus victim of the devasting eathquake/tidal Wide in southern Asia.

2. Michael admits he was wrong for sleeping with children (different from doing anything of a sexual nauture) and publicaly admits himself into some type of mental institution (if he's innocent, this is still a good PR move)

3. Michael releases an artistically Musicology like album and tops the charts like in his glory days. (this is the least likely thing to happen - unfortunately.

4. If the children finally come clean (assuming Micheal didn't do anything wrong) and admit their parents made them lie so they could get paid.

5. Invite black children to his house, instead of white children. (ok, I'm just being funny - not trying to offend anyone)

That's it! Either two, or three of those actions need to happen. Basically, he needs an image makeover (like Kobe Bryant, but a more serious).

Mike is pretty much screwed his career to the point of no return, at least stateside. I don't know how well a J%/Jackson reunion tour whould work out. I also heard he does like tour because he claims that he loses 5 pounds after each shaw.

What I wish he would do and what he should have done a long time ago is that he stops lip synching. Just take the microphone and SING, prove us that you can still do it. Also what I think would be cool if he showed off more beat boxing, do an a cappella... because that's some hot stuff. He can't play an instrument and he basically creates his music vocally so why not showing us what he does best. I for one would be much thrilled to see a nice, intimate live performance by him than see an exhausted 46 year old man lip synching and trying to move like a 20 year old kid.

I wish he would put on some jeans and a tshirt and do a ONA-style tour. He really can sing, he's got a great catalog, he can play piano perfectly well, I bet he knows how to play guitar passably, he can take a small band. . .

Or just dance! He's a fucking beautiful dancer. . .start a little dance company and take it on tour. It'd sell out everywhere, 'cause he's MJ, and he could focus on the dance. I think that the reason he lip-synchs on stage is that he cares more about good dancing than good singing. So dance, already!

One Problem....

All of their last names are JACKSON!!!

I don't think they can help him any more than they could help themselves, They're all screwed up, they need some Dr. Phil or somethin'.
Every time I watch the other people news, I see a false picture of myself, another one of u. They try 2 tell us what we want, what 2 believe. Didn't that happen in the Garden, when somebody spoke 2 Eve? But I'm willin'....

It's their fault what has happened to Michael?
