Anyone remember "Pillow Talk"?

It's before my time, but I was listening to one of my parent's tapes at work and just couldn't stop replaying "Pillow Talk" by Sylvia. Its like a mellow, laying by the fire fucking song. Oooooo it soothes my soul...
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I don't "remember" the song, but I have since discovered it.

Oh yeah

And now for the rest of the story. Do you remember this hit?

...Love Is Strange

Yep, the same Sylvia. (originally Sylvia Vanderpool then Baker then Robinson)

But do you know about Mickey?
It's the great guitarist Mickey Baker who played on many hit records during the '50s.
(and also taught Sylvia how to play)

The same Mickey Baker who's instruction books I learned to play guitar out of.

Mickey Baker's Complete Course in Jazz Guitar Books 1&2.

I love Pillow Talk. In fact, I should have put Sylvia in my list of underappreciated performers. She was doing that bedroom sound before Barry White, and that whole album is a great one. And as the founder of Sugar Hill Records, we probably wouldn't have had hip-hop without her!
thumbs up!
