I don't think they ever wrote or wanted to write a so called "Cross over" song. I Put Maze in the same boat with Teddy Pedergrass or Curtis Mayfield. The Staple Singers. Other people like that. They wrote strickly SOUL music for an older black audience. You obviously haven't heard much of Curtis Mayfield to stick him in with this group. I agree with you about the others, but while Curtis put a ton of soul in his music he is more of the Stevie Wonder quality of musician-- not to say their music was the same but the quality was comparable. | |

Agreed. Curtis is totally at a different spectrum musically. He was a musicial genius. He wrote and produced music that was not only soulful but timeless and universal. | |

I've heard everything from Curtis. I'm a Mega Fan. I wasn't putting in the same boat talent wise. I was putting him in the same boat as not being appreciated. As a matter of fact his level of talent just proves even more how he was underappreciated. The man should've been a star of the magnitude of Stevie Wonder. | |
