Frankie Goes to Hollywood, weren't they GREAT?

I remember when I listened to the Welcome to the pleasuredome album for the 1st time... I was amazed.. What a great album it was for me!!

I wasn't into lyrics at all at that time, but the music got me!! When I hear Relax now, I know it is about love between 2 men, but hey, did i know??

After this album i bought all their 12 inches, coz they were great to!!

I even like their 2nd (and last) album Liverpool....

Too bad it was short, but it was powerfull!!

What do you think?

the beautiful ones, you always seem to loose

I heard their album... seemed to be alot of self-referencing and reprising "Relax" on it..
I guess I didn't "get it". neutral

Frankie Goes To Hollywood: gay boy-band, fabricated by Trevor Horn, sent to the world to shake up the music-scene between '84 & '88.....disbelief

no, they were not great.

ok, one good christmas-song(?) came out of it: 'The Power Of Love'

Their song Relax was Ok and wasn't my favorite. In the 80's, I gladly sported my Frankie Says Relax Shirt like it was no thing b/c it was kinda fashionable. This group has some hot tracks.

No. They were shit.

Your signature says 'I Like Funky Music' If that's the case you should be asking us if we dig The Gap Band or something not a pile of very un-funky shit like FGTH biggrin

I like FGTH's Welcome to the Pleasure Dome. Mostly because of Trevor Horn. I am an admirer of Trevor's work. FGTH as an overall "group", not feelin'it. Not because of the sexuality thing. Without Trevor's vision and skills it just does't hold up musically, for me. cool

Yeah, time flies, I remember like yesterday how I left my parents house at 19 and in now two months time I will turn 33.

I also remember getting a bit sad at 29, realising that my twenties were almost over, but when I turned 30 I already didn't give a shit about it anymore, hehehe!

Although if I had to do it all over again I would have done some things differently, I can honestly say that I got a lot out of my twenties. I partied really hard and just when things threatened to turn the wrong way for me, I unexpectedly got a child. That really balanced me out and I feel very comfortable now at 32, much more secure than in my twenties. Pleasant side effect: I am also enjoying much more succes with the ladies nowadays, I am really enjoying myself! lol

Now back to FGTH... wink
