Jimmy Eat World

Anyone else like this band? I saw them live last week and they were amazing! One of very few bands, these days, that sounds great live!

They're good, not great, but good. A lot fo folks don't like them, though, cuz they're considered emo.

I hate HATE HATE emo music, but I think Jimmy Eat World is a pretty good band; I've seen them in concert 3 or 4 times, and they always put on a great show. 'Bleed American' was a solid album, and from what I've heard, their new one is not too shabby either.

BTW: The name of the band is pretty terrible, though.

emo = Emotional. It began with that band, Husker Du, and went on to much greater things.

I think emo unfairly gets a bad reputation. If you listen to some of the chords many of those bands churn out, they're pretty amazing. Sparta is one example of a great emo band.

I have to say I love this band very much! The roots are deep though...I'm originally from Phoenix, AZ and I've seen them live at least 8 times. Many of those shows were before they arrived into the mainstream. Their music is so emotionally driven and the hooks are irresistable. Their new album FUTURES reminds me of their early albums. To many they might seem like 'any ol rock band' but to me...they are much more than that. How many bands do you know break out of the Arizona scene? (Gin Blossams anyone????? Their lead singer is a dick...Believe me!)
