New Book: CHIC Everybody Dance For all you Chic / Nile Rodgers/Bernard Edwards fans, there's a new book out(Printed in the UK) called Everybody Dance: CHIC and the politics of Disco by Daryl Easlea. Nile Rodgers comments," This book shows some of the complexities of the most liberated and open time in music. Pleasure and the pain that I wouldn't trade for one minute."
I saw that they have it at Amazon and a few other online places, but prices range wildly from $13 to over $30, depending on where you look... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

I'll be picking this one up. I wonder if Nile talks about the Panthers in this one. Icant remember the name of the documentary, but he talked about how he intentionally kept his music and his politics seperate. He's a pretty interesting cat.

Yup, Nile talks about the Panthers in the book. The author actually got to talk to all the former members, including background singers, except for Luther Vandross , who unfortunately had his stroke just before an interview could be set up...
