And I want to thank god, and my parents for...

But hell no, it doesn't annoy me.

that's another thing, they always thank god. why? seems to be some kind of trend. i think a lot of those gangsta rappers want to thank god because they're guilty of all their sins. maybe they figure if they thank god, they can get a good spot in heaven and he'll forget everything.

I would rather hear that gagillion more times than hear another star whine about how HARD it is to be rich and famous. THAT'S what bugs me!

It bothers me in a way.Its like they're saying Im blessed and you're not.

I only say it when Im praying and Im thanking God for blessings. I never announce it to anyone.

Yeah, that is more where I'm at... publicly complaining about the hardships within your chosen field is annoying.

Who whines on accepting an award though? Who whines anyway?

Acceptance speeches don't bug me.

Except when the artists are so humble to a fault that they try to actually give their award to someone else or invite a competitor to the stand, or says "this one is for (someone else)" or say they are accepting on someone else's behalf.

Everyone thanks God for blessing them in the liner notes. That is incredibly annoying.

But really, unless they are completely atheist, why wouldn't they thank God?

What's more amusing to me is the posse charge to the stage.

Does anyone know who has the record for the most hangers-on to be on stage at once?

I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back.
I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there.

it's because it's just such a cliche. how many of them really believe that and can't they be a little more original or different? maybe they could say i am grateful instead? i can't begin to tell you how many times i've heard beyonce nad kelly say that. now even britney says it!

Unless it's coming from Amy Grant, those clichéed liner notes sound about as authentic as Beyonce's press-on nails or Miss America's "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ME (sob)" acceptance speeches.

I only find it odd when people with outrageously offensive lyrics thank God, but who are we to judge.

maybe what they mean is "My music is trashy talentless bullshit, and thank GAWD there are people buying it so i can afford my diamond studded cellphone, drugs, incessively excessive shopping sprees, trips to and from Brazil, Botox treatments, and plastic suregery" ....it wouldn't be possible without the fans INDEED...

No it doesn't bother me that they say they are blessed. What does bother me is when they talk about how they are one with God then go and do some unholy shit, like Whitney Houston she is just a miserable concieted hag.

Well, the word of God, the Bible, says it is good to give thanks to God.

Psalm 107.

I'm going to keep on thanking Him for His blessings. He truly is worthy of the glory, honor, praise and thanks.

Peace.

A lot of "normal" people have that on their voicemails--they tell you "Have a Blessed Day", as if they're annointing you. smile

Yeah, I agree, the word "blessed" has become a lil played.
