I was thumbing through some old CD's and I found my Dionne Farris "Wild Flower - Wild Seed" and popped it in the player. I forgot how much i loved this album. She could have almost given Meshell a run for her money,(but i still love Meshell 'unconditionally')
Does anyone know what happened to her. The last time I saw her she was on the "old" Tavis Smiley Show before he was fired form BET. anyone know anything?????

She plays around and lives here in Atlanta. I think she's done with the music biz though like I said, she still throws a gig here and there. She actually rehearses down the hall from where my band does! I've never had the pleasure of meeting her but her band has a space in the same building.

"Passion" is amazing. The guitars coupled with her vocals are killer. I still spin that album regularly. "Now or Later" and "Stop To Think" are great, too.

I always felt like she was cheated out of chart success. I remember VH1 showed her first single "I Know" a lot of love, but that was extent of WS -- WF's promotion.

This kind of reminds me of Meshell and her videos. I think because she didn't look "sexy" or "femme" enough, they didn't rotate her back when Plantation Lullabies and Peace Beyond Passion dropped.

I met her years ago and she was a a super nice person.It was very sasy to talk to her and she invited me to be in one of her videos and..I was such a lush and skirt chaser back then that I didn't make it. Stupid. She is really talented.

That is a great album. I thought she had gotten back with Arrested Development and did a short tour with them recently. I could be wrong though. At least I know Arrested Development came to D.C. this past summer.
