this is one of my sweetie's favorite christmas CDs, and i'm really warming up to it...it's nice and melodic and catchy, but at the same time it's not so obtrusive that you can't hold conversations or open presents while it's playing.

eventhough it is simply thought of as a holiday cd, it is really done well. Even though some may not like kids singing "christmas time is here" is nice.

I posted a thread discussing this yesterday:
A Charlie Brown Christmas (Original Soundtrack): Often imitated, often covered, never duplicated. Timeless, arguably the best original Christmas album ever with so many original Christmas standards ("Christmastime Is Here," "Skating," "Linus and Lucy"). One of my favorite jazz albums of all time. Of each track on here, which is a classic, the greatest is the moving "Greensleeves" that closes the album. It can bring tears to your eyes. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
Props will be withheld until the showing and proving has commenced. -- Aaron McGruder

I've had George Winston's version of this for years and it's become a Christmas favorite. That and his December album.

I was flipping through the channels tonight and, what can I say, when I saw "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on...my grown ass stopped flipping channels. This is one my favorite Christmas shows for the music alone. I have Grover Washington, Jr.'s version of "Christmas Time Is Here", which I absolutely love, but I have seriously considered buying the "A Charlie Brown Christmas" CD. Vain, I am also going to be the Charlie Brown CD b/c it is a hell of a classic and Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without it. This CD always conjures up wonderful times during Christmas pasts when I was a child.

It never really felt like Christmas until I had seen the Charlie Brown, Rudolph, and Frosty shows each year. Andy is a four letter word.

It isn't quite Christmas without hearing "Christmas Time is Here"-the vocal or instrumental version, either one. Dallas band Chomsky does a great cover of it btw: http://www.randysrodeo.co.../index.php

don'tcha just love his round head! He's such a blockhead! I love that soundtrack, I have it on tape, yep old school tape. I need to pull that out and play it.. I missed the cartoon last night tho. I always watch it around the holidays. Linus' speech about the true meaning always gets to me. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

This CD has been in my holiday collection for awhile. It gets played on the regular this time of year. Vince Guaraldi's music captured Charles Schulz's vision perfectly. You just can't imagine a Charlie Brown cartoon without it. "No sex can be safer, it's a pill wrapped in a little piece of paper."
