No one went to this show? I heard Musiq and Jaguar Wright were there. Jaguar supposedly high as a kite but don't know if she performed.

As for the rats in NYC... they have more attitude than some people.
Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

eek So you guys mean to tell me that rats really run rapid in the streets of NY? Wow.

Just certain neighborhoods. But you will see them in most all of the subways, zipping around on the tracks. They also can be seen scurrying in the woods of Central Park.

The way I see it, as long as they're not inside my house, I'm not that bothered by them. They're stealthy, resilient little varmints.

Oh. Is it true that some of them are really the size of dogs? barf I don't think I've ever seen a rat in my life. I've seen mice, but not rats. I'd probably loose my ever-loving mind if I came in contact with one. lol

I totally agree with you!!! I couldn't get enought of Love It and Soul Sista- one of those chillin' jams that I played over and over again - at least for me -had to give it a rest. But I will find it again. I also loved Sometimes - boy did he channel Prince in that one!! I really dug his entire album!!

"Love It" was the bomb song. "Sometimes" I didn't like on first listen so I thoroughly and fully ignored it and then Byron included it on a mix Cd he made for me and I became obsessed with the song. Obsessed to the point that I would actually cry at how deliciously beautiful his voice and harmonies are in that song. Thanks Byron!!!

Okay, back to the Bilal thread...

lol

Does anyone remember Bilal from Common's "Like Water For Chocolate" album. There was this one song/interlude at the end of "Funky For You" feat. Jill Scott and Bilal and dude ripped it.

He went into a gospel-like vibe that would've made you do a double take and check to see if you were listening to Common or Rance Allen! lol

That's when I knew this dude was seriously talented. Too bad he's so messed up in the head. disbelief

I think some things he does are "stage antics" to sorta play with the crowd. Not sure how "much" though. Hopefully he'll kick the habit if he has one so he won't end up like our boy Rick or ODB. These people really need help and what generally happens is that the catz around them recognize it but do absoloutely nothing. He did some stuff on Talib Kwali's sophmore album in the past also. It was pretty good.

Exactly! My sister and I were having a similar conversation about this the other week. Just think about how people like Michael Jackson, Rick James or Whitney Houston would've been if they were surrounded by people who actually cared about them and not their bank accounts.

If someone would've told Michael they loved him the way he was and that he didn't need 50 million surgeries, or monkeys or lamas or a merry-go-round, etc. perhaps he would've been a completely different person. Unfortunately, most of these people are diven by a paycheck and could care less about another person just so long as their getting their end of the bargain.

I live in Harlem and the rats just swarm on my block. They zip in front of you when you're walking down the sidewalk at night . . .gotta say, it's fun to watch girls (and some guys) scream when they visit.
