Anyone Remember "Oaktown's 3 5 7 ?

They were a female rap group from the late eighties formed by MC Hammer. They were corny as rappers but they could dance their butts off.

You know I remember them...one of my guilty pleasures...kind of like the female rap Destiny's child...started out as a trio(Sweet LD,Terrible T,& Lil P.),then a quartet(LD,Terrible T,Sweet Pea,&VC),then chopped down to a duo...Loved "Yeah,Yeah,Yeah" and they reminded me of cheerleaders in that video...anyone remember "Honey"? from their 2nd album...kind of like "Juicy Gotcha Krazy" the sequel. I read sometime ago Terrible T was still rappin and suppose to drop some solo stuff but never came out.

Oh my god something remembers that? I got their album ("drop the axe"?) somewhere.....I even got the turtles tune Hammer did and the rocky v stuff he did for some guy called joey b ellis. "go for it" was such a good cut off the rocky v soundtrack!

I gotta hear it again as i cannot remember the album at all? B angie b did a good solo cut off "class act" soundtrack. She did the title cut i think?

yeah I bought That album for that "Midnight Lover" Song...other then that they were kind of corny. Most of the acts Hammer put out were Corny with the exception of B.Angie B.,and Special Generation...even though 3.5.7 were nothing spectacular lyrically I still loved their stage presence and dance moves, last i heard was 3.5.7 was supposed to have a 3rd album out in 92 called "the Fila Treatment" which obviously never seen the light of day...did you ever hear Soft Touch? they were another female rap/r&b group Hammer was prepping before his demise.

Never heard of soft touch? Any good? I ain't listened to any of the hammer related acts 4 a long time now. Special G were the best I reckon though. B angie B I always thought was gonna take off but she never did?

I liked the way Hammer gave all these cats chances. Plus how he had female dancers that were not based on looks but on sheer dancing power! Hammer's vids like "gaining momentum" "count it off" "too legit to quit" had female dancers featured too, but not in a provocative way like everyone else was doing it. Hammer seems pretty good in that respect and come to think of it, who else has ever done that? Hammer repects women pure and simple, and that is rare in the music industry. I remember seeing Missy Elliot saying how she loved "Oaktown 3.5.7". I can c that..... biggrin
