hmmm It figures. This explains alot about their erratic behavior. Apparently, their attraction/addiction to illegal substances must be heriditary.

As with Alicia, you need to give this a good 4-5 rotations. I am now in love with this album.

But Alicia's debut still sucked after 20 listens sad

nod Agreed. I definitely wasn't digging it at all myself.

I've heard some of the same. Unfortunately, it possibly could be true. Remember he did write in his lyrics, "I wish I was drug free sometimes"...

Man, I wish some catz would just leave drugs alone. We've seen the loss of too many musicians with talent. Dag!

True.

Stories about Bilal have been going around for a long time. A lot of stories about him being high on stage. I don't care for the guy's voice and his out of control ass ego.

I don't really trust anything over there...?uestlove was the same one who claimed he was D'Angelo's counsins, but remarkably wasn't after their little "falling out."

I loved Soul Sista. That was my jam.

He reminds me a bit of Prince. He's a very sexy guy and I really dig his voice.

I remember when his album came out, MTV did the dutiful thing and promoted him as the next Prince protege. The album, with a few exceptions, is a pretty good album. I like the Skit on the beginning of Side 2, for it's eerie-sexy feeling, and other favorites are Sally, Soemtimes, Love It, Soul Sista, When Will You Call, Queen Of Sanity, The Ride, and First Born Second. There are many influences that can be heard here, from gangsta rap to social R&B, to a definite comparison to Prince. Good stuff. I'd recommend it.

I don't see whats wrong with that. Self-pride ain't nothing to be ashamed of.

And Bilal is named after the 1st muslim slave in which he got freed by the prophet Mohammed.

mad Okay, I know I told ya'll I would be going to the Bilal concert this weekend and would give you the scoop right? Aight' it turns out I drive down to New York, NY from Philly mind you which takes me approximately 3 and a half hours! I previously met up with a female friend of mind and asked if she wanted to skoot down their to see the concert since she dug some of his stuff. We get down to New York approximatley 9:45 and link up with one of her cousins who take us around the city and show us the Apollo, Times square, the whole shabang! By now I am on my emotional high right? We eat at a nice Jazz restaurant, "i forget the name", where they had a little jazz trio doing there thang. I'm like, "well we better roll out to the concert so we don't be waiting in a long line". The concert supposed to start at 11:58p according to the email that I got from ticketmaster. It was approx 11:30p so we rolled out and headed for B.B. KINGS BAR AND GRILL. Now everything cool and cosure but we couldn't find no daggone parking so I told my friends "cousin" to take the car and head home while me and my friend attended the concert. We got out and walked about a block up the street to the jon and was the 2nd ones in line. While standing in line on my emotional high from the sights and sounds of the city we anxiously approach dude who checks tickets. I handed him our tickets and he goes.....Bilal was "last night" not tonight! Now, I am sure he made a mistake cuz I got in my hand the memo from ticket master stating the day and time of the concert. He looks at it and goes "that was a misprint", look on the actual tickets. So I look on the printout of the actual tickets and it says 12-11-04 12am! I'm like WHAT!!!!! So you know me right? I'm all pissed off and carrying on, so the couple in back of me is like you we here to see Bilal too! I'm like I wanna talk to the manager!! Sho nuff' the lady manager comes out and is like, "well, we can give you complimentary drinks for your trouble". I'm like sweety, we drove 4 hours from Philly to see the concert based upon the info on this here memo. How was we to know that the time on the memo and on the tickets would be different??? She like well get Ticketmaster to refund your loot. Needless to say people I was HOT!!! I turned away from the spot with my head down cuz I was waiting for this concert for a month and had just enough loot to get down their, get my belly full, and check out a nice concert! What do ya'll think I should do in reference to this irresponsible error by Ticketmaster????? It nearly cost me 100.00 for the whole trip combined front and back.

Did anybody see the Friday night show?? It was advertised as being free.

I was going to go but had a cold--and it was all stormy outside. Just wondering who the 'special guests' might have been . . .

Man, I can't even begin to tell you the things that went wrong after that but hey, you get over things. I just think there should be something done by ticketmaster to those of us that received that memo. I mean man I was pondering over the drive out there but I just was like hey, the tickets are cheap and it's New York and it would be something to do. We had to take the subway back to the bronx and got lost also trying to find her cousins house cause my friend couldn't remember the exact street address. The freakin' rats in the subway look like cats! We actually ended up seeing horrible movie.

Yeah, man what gives?? I'm started to get heated all over again! lol I usually am the most mild-mannered cat around but when something that is "wrong" is looking me in the face I am like??? Where's the freakin' justice? I mean the ticket cost was cheap so who cares about that... It was the freakin 4 hour drive! Plus the slight embarrassment when I invited my friend to roll out there with me to check out the concert! The were so nonchalant about the whole episode too! We were like, you gotta be kiddin' right?? Plus it was mad cold outside and here we were left walking up and down the freakin' city lookin for some place to go.

Just certain neighborhoods. But you will see them in most all of the subways, zipping around on the tracks. They also can be seen scurrying in the woods of Central Park.

The way I see it, as long as they're not inside my house, I'm not that bothered by them. They're stealthy, resilient little varmints.
