Well since we're in Music:Non-Prince, I'll spare you the images of all Prince's 1978-1990 output.
Yup definitely Janet's A&M albums need remastering.

I'm glad we got Madonna, Like A Virgin, and True Blue remastered.. I can even skip on Who's That Girl and You Can Dance if we could just get Like A Prayer remastered sooner (I wonder what 2 bonus mixes they would include this time love)

hmmm I used to have New Order on cassette so Substance is still soundin alright to me.

Those Eurythmics ones should still be on their way, I bet most of the remastering is done.

Hey I'll believe it when I see it. What's it been, 3 years they've been promised now? lol

It's funny, there are so many albums (even ones from the 1980s) that didn't make it to CD (domestically) in the first place, let alone require remastering.. (they're really Prince albums to me but I must mention Vanity 6, Apollonia 6, and The Family).

so many, but the holy grail is the NEIL YOUNG catelogue. With the 4 that were released last year on CD for the first time (Re-actor, On the Beach, American Stars and Bars and Hawks and Doves), and also the Greatest Hits CD that just came out - - - all of which were spectacularly remastered - - - i'm hoping the long rumoured re-issue of his entire catelogue might be around the corner.

Other than Neil, Eurythmics, The Cure (which is on its way) and Kate Bush are the 3 i'm waiting for very anxiously.

And then there's Prince, of course.

There are alot of other great 80's albums I'd love to see, things like Arcadia's "So Red the Rose", Falco's albums, the Lover Speaks, things like that.

Dammit, if The Fixx can get reissues, so can Falco!!

Jeez, there are so many. Bowie made me an addict. I'll buy any remastered/repackaged thing he puts out.

I daydream all the time about how Prince should do his. He should be smart and use this current wave of popularity to make it happen. Warner Bros. doesn't do much to promote his back catelogue, so he should.

Other than the Cure and Eurythmics ones in the wings, I would love to hear the rumored Kraftwerk ones. U2, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, New Order and Talking Heads could all stand to have their stuff spruced up. I'm sure I could think of a ton, but those are the ones that immediately jump out at me that I'd put down some major cash for.

They didn't remaster it, just packaged it with the DVD and called it "The Rhythm Nation Collection".

Can't argue with any of those.
At least Black Moses is off the list.

3 artists spring to mind immediately. i wish they'd go back and do anniversary editions of Bowie's "Space Oddity," "The Man Who Sold The World," and especially "Hunky Dory" ... giving them the same double-disc treatment (and better remastering than the 1999 versions). and i hope they continue to do 30th anniversary re-issues for all of his albums at least through "Scary Monsters"

it would be nice if U2 had the same remaster program as the Bowie albums as well, with all of the b-sides, single versions, solo stuff, etc. put on a second disc for each album.

third, i really wish they'd remaster/re-issue Madonna's albums, adding extended versions, remixes, soundtrack and compilation tracks, b-sides, etc. some of her biggest hits aren't on the main albums. and those remasters of the first album, "Like A Virgin," and "True Blue" are a decent enough idea, but tacking on just 2 remixes each at the end really doesn't cut it. seems pointless. they need to start over and make them each complete.

I couldn't believe my eyes: Into The Groove isn't included on the remastered Like A Virgin! (Yes I know that song was added to Like A Virgin only in 1985...so what?) cool

U2 remasters???

Co-sign! biggrin

I believe "HBS" is available on SACD or DVD Audio , but I think as an import only.
