KILLER QUEEN APPRECIATION THREAD

I JUST RECENTLY PULLED THIS SONG OUT OF MY CD COLLECTION AND I MUST SAY THAT "IT ROCKS!" IT BROUGHT ME BACK TO THE WAY MUSIC USED TO BE. IT IS ORIGINAL, CLEVERLY INVENTIVE, BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN AND VOCALLY SPECTACULAR. FREDDY MERCURY WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED BECAUSE HE NEVER WAS AFRAID TO TAKE MUSIC TO THE NEXT LEVEL WHICH IS GREATLY EVIDENT IN THIS MASTERPIECE OF COMPOSITION. OKAY, I'M DONE. cool

LOVE that subtle and yet oh-so-unusual Brian May solo. Hard to believe that song was written about Eric 'Monsta!' Hall:

Eric was Queen's promoter back in the very early days, and Freddie became quite infactuated with the poor fellow!

He titled the song 'Killer Queen' because Eric had no interest in Freddie whatsoever, and Freddie would feign a broken heart every time he entered the room
lol

Queen medley (Bohemian Rhapsody/Killer Queen/March of The Black Queen/Bohemian Rhapsody (Reprise)

Queen had some badass tunes. I remember being so surprised when I was in college that so many brothers I knew liked them. There was so much diversity in musical tastes that it really blew me away and taught me alot.

we just recently got a new radio station that plays "Classic soul". they play some new stuff, but its mostly 80's and before, my kind of stuff. Anyway they dropped another one bites the dust in the rotation the other night and it made me remember how back in the day they would play funky songs by white artists on the "soul" stations.

I really need to get some queen cds. i had a ton of their albums in tape, but the only cd i got was one of the hits things and it got stolen

Yes, you actually compliment my thoughts regarding music. It really shold not be catergorized. Queen had some funky tunes man! I don't care what they did in their personal lives cause that's noones business! I care about the excellancy they had in their music and songwriting. I also love "best friend".

Co-sign..I know a few of us who really appreciate Queen. Most of the brothers I know have an appreciation for British groups.

This song was one of MANY brilliant tunes by Queen. In time, I think they will be viewed as an influencial band in the vein of The Stones, The Beatles and Zepplin. Freddy Mercury had the BEST voice of any front man in rock history!!
