Madonna/LIVE AID DVD question DOes the new Live Aid 4 DVD set include ALL THREE songs performed by Madonna? I remember when Vh-1 re-aired it in 1995, they left out "Love makes the world go 'round."
I'm debating whether or not to buy this since they didn't include performances by some good bands like POWER STATION and THE HOOTERS. But if Madonna's LMTWGR is on there, I may reconsider. Let the rain come down...17 days....

It's not on there. Holiday, Get (sic) into the groove and Revolution (with the thompson twins) are her only songs. If I recall, when it was aired in 1985, she made a comment like "I ain't taking shit off today" in response to all of the Penhouse hoopla that was taking place at that time. That's not on the DVD either. A bunch of sets are edited and I was bitter when I purchased the DVD, but after watching it, it doesn't matter... what IS on there is SO worth it! For the Queen set alone, it's worth it! It's also worth it for the Mick/Tina performance! Most people sounded like shit during that concert, but everyone sang live. It was the Woodstock of my generation. Own it! Plus most of the proceeds go to charity!
It is unforgivable that the Led Zeppelin set was cut from the box set, but their own DVD is way better anyway.

ugh... it's bad enough that Love Makes The World Go Round has to sit at the end of True Blue, stinking up that whole album from down at the end of the line, but why on earth would she perform that as a new song at Live Aid? gross. must have been the first track she wrote/worked on for the album. Salty... LOL! In the booklet, they "explain" that a lot of the footage was lost or was unusable, which is why it's not included.... They say that the original concert was 14 hours and they have included 10 hours of that (the Led Zep set was probably 30 minutes of that too).... For any Los Angeles folx, you can see the un-edited show (or whatever they aired on ABC in 1985) at the Museum of Radio & Television (including "4 The Tears In Your Eyes")... I checked it out a few years ago when I was there.
