RIP FREDDIE MERCURY ... 13 years ago .. appreciation thread

Post pics whatever .. any major Queen fans in here??

on this day 1991, Freddie Mercury died of AIDS aged 45.

Think of what he could have done if he was still here today.

He was the goddam man.

LoL

He was a QUEEN in every aspect of the word, hehehe.

And I love him. His best work on Innuendo, when he knew he was ill still gives me the shiffers. In a good way.

RocknRollDave

Had no idea it was 22nd November that he died, nor did I do the math and realise how damn long ago it was.

worship Possibly the best Rock frontman of all time.

We had a Rock And Roll Hall of Fame open this month in the UK, and Queen played three tracks with Paul Rogers (ex Free and Bad Company) filling in on vocals.
Rogers has a great voice and is a top frontman, but....well, it goes without saying that is was no-where near Freddy's standard

I owe Queen big time for opening my eyes to real music when i was a 13 year old boy. While all my other friends were going crazy over the new shit at the time like Backstreet Boys and all that techno stuff...i was into Freddie and the gang.

Eventhough someone took my Queen CD and tossed it in the rubbish bin one day in class...i bet he's dumped his BSB CD in it as well by now...

I was mad about this band...about Freddie...that i took part in a character portrayal contest as the man himself...sang 'a kind of magic'...and won first prize...even tho it looks ridiculous looking back...but i had a hell of a time...

Eventhough i became a fan after Freddie died...i'm most certain his legacy would continue through the next generations and beyond...R.I.P Freddie.

The voice!

woot!

One listen to "The Show Must Go On" and you hear the true emotion and pain inside as it was during his final battle that he recorded it.

Freddie is and will always be one of my favorite frontmen-period.

oh yes, I loved Queen, but more so in their early days (up until let's say the "Hot Space" album). I had a bit of a hard time in getting into their later material... but anyways there is no denying that Freddie will always remain a very important part of music history nod

A musicians' musician. The list is endless, just buy them all.

Gay, straight, womanizer, it just doesn't matter because his music is timeless.

I'm not a Queen fan, but their Live Aid performance was one of the most exciting, electrifying things I've ever seen in my life. Bob Geldof himself said they were by far the best act that day.
