just watched the retrospective on Song IN the key of life

i was disappointed. There were some interesting stories, but there weren't too many performances and I was expecting an actual documentary. However, there were a couple of comments that caught my eye

Stevie: "I just found out that I didn't get credit for playing trumpet on I wish. Didn't I play trumpet on that?" (seemed to be joking, but still intriguing)

"I Wish is definitely one of the best works of stevie's...that has come out..because we all know what's in the can smile "

I like this documentary. There are some interesting, insightful comments from the musicians who played on the album, and it's just great to see all of these people "celebrating" this landmark album. But I wish they would have discussed EVERY song.

Don't feel bad. They didn't discuss the title track to Aja on the Steely Dan DVD either.

And Coolio's inclusion on the thing rang hollow to me. You may as well have put any Stevie fan in there.

The only thing that he said that raised my eyebrow is the exact same thing I've been saying about Stevie Wonder for years; Stevie sees more than a lot of people with sight.

And I don't appreciate the fact that I have to share that sentiment with Coolio. Gawd.
