Dangerous concert! AT LAST!

Even though I taped it many, many years ago on tv, Iam still glad that I got an official DVD version of Jacko's "dangerous" concert from Bucharest!

Anyone like it? I love the start (though my tv version has a small behind the scenes that woulda been nice if that had been included sad ) He just stands there, in his patriotic (to himself) pose.....with the sunglasses and all! FANTASTIC OPENING that only Mike would dare do!

The "toaster" effect is such a good idea.....anyway, despite the lypsyncing, the concert is steller! "working day and night" "Human nature" "Jam" being the true highlights!

Question, I heard that more songs off "dangerous" were rehearsed, so y didn't he do 'em? Where is "remember the time"? The title track was performed years too late on MTV awards 1995 (which was great) and even put in the "history" tour but y not this one?

I would kill to c "keep the faith" live! That track is so underated.but I imagine, very, very hard to sing live though biggrin

I saw a rehearsing footage once of "Dangerous Tour"
that was so much better musically than the actual show
I think,that was more mechanical,less live feel
& he did "Remember the time" on that.

Cool, I would love that on DVD.....I guess u heard Michael talking and saying things like "Bubbles not now I'm busy" etc.....

seriously, did he do "she drives me wild", as dated as it is now, woulda been good 4 stage back then! "why u wanna trip on me" could had awsome choreography ala "dangerous"!

If only sad

I heard people say Dangerous Rehearsels(there's a bootleg DVD of it) is better than the actual tour lol . it's got songs like remember the time, way you make me feel etc than never made the tour. and they're all sang live

at the beginning of the tours mike sings most of the songs live, ufortunately as the the tour continues the miming starts.

but dangerous concert is still an experience. it's all about the energy drawing from mj AND the audience.

hee hee! wink

I love that pic! Pose is funny and totally pretentious, perfect Michael if ya ask me!

The "dangerous" intro is the best intro to any concert period! He just stands there 4 about 2 whole mins.....DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Only Mike could get away with that.....plus wearing his pants on the outside too biggrin

The toaster effect as it is ofeten called!

The jacksons Victory opening, with all 5 jacksons on the steps, with funky clothes on, comes a close second!

I have this concert on video, from the time it was shown on TV. Im Pretty dam certain there was no lyp syncing at all. I cant say the same for the whole of the History tour, but im certain there wernt on Dangerous, or at least of the concert i have on video. The bestest parts of this concert is, yes, when he enters the stage, and 2) when he does workin day and night which leads into beat it - incredible.

Actually, it's a thong bodysuit lol

The Way You Make Me Feel, Bad and Dangerous were actually performed on some Dangerous shows. The setlist kind of changed as he went along. He also lip synched a lot less at the start of the tour. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe that the Bucharest concert was the last one of the first leg of the tour.

He should have performed Remember The Time though. Judging from the rehearsal footage, it would have been a great performance piece. The only time he ever performed it was at the Soul Train awards in 93. But he had a broken foot and had to sit in a chair while performing it. Plus it was lip synched, so it was actually pretty pointless.

90% of this concert is live, i dont get all these folk moaning about him lip syncing the other 10%, he was dancing his feckin ass off!

The only songs that are not live are Jam (although u do get some he he's and stuff) , Black or White , some of Will you be there and Heal the World/Man in the Mirror have backing track vocals here and there but are essentially live! Out of 18 performed songs only 2 are not live! Totally not worth bitchin about coz this show is one of the greatest concerts ever, the energy is amazing, the performances are perfect. NO other man living, dead, or still to be born will achieve greatness at the level shown in this performance. People dont seem to realise just how gifted he is.

Watching this show on dvd this week made me realise that he is the greatest of all time, i then watched sign o the times/rave/live at the aladdin and it hit me that prince aint got nothing on MJ!

biggrin Yeah, it had been many years since I had seen my old VHS copy of "dangerous".....I agree with u on every bit! After watching the whole show, I too now realize how much more energy/class and sheer perfroming power this cat had over even a killer live act like Prince! It gave me goosebumps in places.....

the audience footage is funny...all the girls that faint makes me laugh....."she's out of my life" is a classic moment as he lets a girl on stage and she refuses to go and tries to take MJ off stage with her.....Michael continues singing and seems not the slightest bit bothered that the girl was desparately trying to hug her again! Priceless.....

"working day and night" is killer too, and "I just can't stop loving u" is nice.....a simple duet which breaks the show down well!

I didnt buy the boxset yet, but I've got a bootleg copy of dangerous in bucharest.

Does the boxset's dvd show show that girl which slaps herself in the face, when michael turns his head around at the beginning(standing still, sunglasses on)?? lol

with respect, dude, you're trippin'. smile I don't think it would be possible to get a more obvious example of lip-synching, short of his "mouth mic" falling off mid-song.

Concert still kicks ass though. Especially the J5 medley, the intro to billie jean and loads of other kick ass stuff.

I had the album on tape.

The concert-hell of course there's lipsynching.

Always loved when Senor Jacko got into a heavier mood.

This is before the Chuck E. Cheese tokens of course.

I've seen this concert, and at least "Thriller" and "Smooth Criminal" are lipsynched. As far back as the Bad tour, MJ has lipsynched Bucharest. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he loose/damage his voice pretty badly right before this show?

Anyways, I've seen it on VH1 many a time, and I gotta say, MJ ain't got nothin' on Prince's performance ability. I hope I never see Prince do that "sign of the cross" dance move that ends with a crotch massage that I see Mr. Jackson do ad naseum when he performs.

Axchi696 clearly hasnt been watchin the same performance we have on dvd. He certainly didnt lose his voice on this show, his vocals are in fine form, maybe not up there with the 2nd leg of the BAD tour, but amazing still.

And i must add that his dance moves are completely varied on this show, he busts ever move the human body can do!

All in all, i have to admit that Prince is certainly the better performer now, simply because he has concentrated all his effort in performance whereas mj's attention has been diverted by other serious matters! HOWEVER, anyone with any sense, and i must add that im sure even Prince will agree, that MJ at his best is THE BEST!

Its easy enough to work it out, go find the BAD tour on the internet, go buy the dangerous live dvd, watch em , then watch Sign o the Times! Im sorry but anyone who thinks SOTT is better needs their heads adjusted!

Oh yeah, i noticed that too.....that was funny shit! "heal the world" prefromance sucks, and the angel thing on "will u be there" is mega naff! Clever though!

Still, no where near as naff as "earth song" on "history" tour!

He sounds bad on "human nature", but then who cares? He sounds great on "she's out of my life" though!

Remember "heal the wrold" done at the superbowl performance 1993? Qith the flashcards and HUGE and I mean HUGE choir? That was some super shit!(?).....I love that whole performance!
