That song was sooo cool. I remember that was the first time I heard someone use "phat" in a song (I didn't get out much ) Thats back when BlueNote was getting nice royalty checks.

They were one of the few Hip-Hop acts I dug at that time. Jazzy, funky, and they got the ill lyrics. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I heard they back in the studio making an album. "It's not what they call you, it's what you respond to." - Mabel "Madea" Simmons

I love me some Ladybug mecca..... I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back. I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there. I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish. And I am

Does anyone have the answer to were the music came from on that song? I'd like the original song. Also Eric B and Rakim's "Check the Technique"

That tune was ULTIMATE! First saw them playing live on a cult U.K. T.V. show called 'The Word' "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

I remember reading a while back that she died of Aids.....Don't know if it's true Smooches;) It's not true. In fact, Ladybug appears on Sweetback's latest project, which was released this year.

According to some track deconstructionists, there's something from the Blow Your Head intro (Damn Right I Am Somebody - Fred Wesley and the JBs) and the horns are from a tune called Strechin' by James Williams (Blue Note). tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Does anyone have Cherrywine's music? If so, is it good? "It's not what they call you, it's what you respond to." - Mabel "Madea" Simmons

You met King? I saw him DC maybe two or so years ago when he spinned at FIVE. I love every thing this man touches. Butterfly (now Cherrywine) does a really cool track on Kings' Adventures in Lo-Fi album called "the sound". That album's worth checkin out if you haven't heard it. Change it one more time..
