Sumbody punched DR. Dre @ Vibe Awards..

disbelief

Just make us black folks look like we can't even act in a public setting that is being taped for television at that...

Anyway..somebody punched Dr. Dre in the head and ran, then his entourages went after the man...Youngbuck stabbed the man who hit Dre and they are now looking for him also.

Anyway the show was ghetto as hell.. But I did enjoy Ashanti's lip-synched per4mance and Quincy Jones presenting Dr. Dre's award.
Did any1 see G-Unit on stage accepting their award? Ugh..some dumbass on there said, "And I wanna thank Fifty for bailing me out of jail.." disbelief

Lookin like a bootleg award show...ugh...mm mm mmm. disbelief

I watched the awards while looking turning between my favorite others shows Biggest Loser and Girlfriends. From what I was able to observe, I didn't miss much b/c I don't care too much for alot of the talentless younger artist w/exception of Anthony Hamilton, Twista, Common. Aside from those those artists,I could care less.

As for Dre's ass kicking, I think that its rather sad. I wonder was his ass kicking done in as result of someone wanting vengence towards his white protegee Emimein (who was a no show).

I can’t believe Quincy putting a ghetto show like that 2gether. He is much 2 old 2 have those rappers all on the same award show. I can’t believe he would even represent that type of madness. It was way 2 ghetto. Ashanti was real hot. The show it self was way 2 ghetto. U could tell Dre was shook up and pretty nervous but still tried 2 look tuff after receiving his award. LoL those rappers need 2 chill. Eventually someone is going 2 get hurt for sure.

That was one of the most scariest things I ever saw at an awards show ever. People really knows how to mess up a great event. I really think its sad that we all killing each other just 4 respect.

I've got a lot of love for Dre because Burt Bacharach has recorded with him. Burt is God.

I don't understand why everybody seems to hate Ashanti. Is it something to do with that Soul Train award, a couple of years ago?

She's making a movie with the Muppets, so in my eyes she's also a God. A goddess. Whatever.

That's what Dre's ass gets. I don't know if anyone recalls this, but around 1989 or 1990, he was charged with assault. He physically assaulted a female rapper that went by the name of Sister Dee. She was the host of a video show (the name escapes me) and was a member of a female rap duo called Body and Soul. I think the story went that they were at a club and she started asking him questions about Ice Cube, well he caught an attitude because he was beefing with Ice around that time. Supposedly he slapped her to the ground mad . She sued him and I think they settled out of court. Part of the settlement was that he would produce an album for her confused . I don't know what ever became of that, but I was pissed that she would want the man that slapped her, to actually produce something for her.

I feel no sympathy for his lame ass. mad

November 1990 - Fox TV rap video show "Pump it up" runs a segment on N.W.A in which it crosscut between members of the group badmouthing Ice Cube and a interview Ice Cube saying bad things about them.

January 27, 1991 - Dre runs into "Pump it up" host Dee Barnes at a record release party in Los Angeles and gets into a physical confrintation with her.

Febuary 1991 - Barnes files criminal charges against Dre for "assault and battery" and files a $22.7 million lawsuit against Dre and the members of N.W.A. The civil case is eventually settled outside of court.

_____
Young does not greatly emphasize sexism and misogyny in his album, but his public life is full of violence and abuse. A 1991 Rolling Stone article gives a brutal account of Young physically attacking rap show host Dee Barnes. The incident began in 1990 with a segment about N.W.A on her Fox TV rap video show, Pump It Up. The show crosscut between members of the group dissing their former partner Jackson and a previous interview with him dissing N.W.A. The members of N.W.A. were displeased with Barnes' inclusion of the clip. On January 27, 1991, Young (Dre in the quotation below) ran into Barnes at a record-release party in Los Angeles, where:

He picked her up and "began slamming her face and the right side of her body repeatedly against a wall near the stairway" as his bodyguard held off the crowd. After Dre tried to throw her down the stairs and failed, he began kicking her in the ribs and hands. She escaped and ran into the women's rest room. Dre followed her and "grabbed her from behind by the hair and proceeded to punch her in the back of the head."

Finally, Dre and his bodyguard ran from the building.

Far from denying the attack, the members of N.W.A. insist that, as Ren says, "she deserved it -- bitch deserved it." Eazy agrees: "Yeah, bitch had it coming."

And Dre himself says: "People talk all this shit, but you know, somebody fuck with me, I'm gonna fuck with them. I just did it, you know. Ain't nothing you can do now by talking about it. Besides, it ain't no big thing-- I just threw her through a door" (Light 65-66).

Barnes, who first filed charges against Young in February 1991, also pursued a civil lawsuit alleging assault and battery, infliction of emotional distress, and defamation. Barnes states that N.W.A.'s whole philosophy has been that "they’re just telling stories, just reporting how it is on the streets. . . . But they've started believing this whole fantasy, getting caught up in their press, and they think they're invincible. They think they're living their songs" (Light 65-66). In her opinion, the issue is bigger than just her -- one person -- getting slapped around: It is a campaign by N.W.A. to promote a Number One album calling for violence against women. Barnes says of N.W.A.: "They've grown up with the mentality that it's okay to hit women, especially black women. Now there's a lot of kids listening and thinking it's okay to hit women who get out of line"
