I have never heard Mastodon. but they come highly recommended by Andy Cairns, singer and vocalist with Therapy?

...which gives me a good excuse to plug Therapy?'s music.

Troublegum is their most popular (read:commercial) album, but I also say head towards High Anxiety, or the recently released Never Apologise, Never Explain.

PS Why no Pantera? They're better than Superjoint, in my book. Gotta be Vulgar Display....and Reinventing The Steel

Leviathan is a killer album, one of the best to come out in 2004. Reinventing the Steel is boring - the start of the same crappy melodies Phil put on every Down song (although the combo of "Doob Interlude" and "New Orleans is a Dying Whore" are almost worth buying their second album for). Plus, the lyrics are all about being stupid, rebellious kids, when that's all they railed against in Trendkill, their finest album. But I digress.

TOURNIQUET:
Psycho Surgery
Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance
When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act as a prism and form a rainbow. The rainbow is a division of white light into many beautiful colors. Regardless of the day, I'm glad you were born.

I haven't ever heard these guys, so I guess I should check them out!

biggrin

Oh, and I don't like Pantera at all... none of their music was good to me.

Hey Mastodon, I promised I'd let you know what I thought of the ecard you gave me the link to, so....

Pretty good!

Like the drum intro at the start of the second track. Nice!

Vocals a bit "Oo-oo Scarey Monsters" for me, but certainly an interesting sound..I'll be looking out for more on this band.....
I even heard a little bit of a resemblance to Faith No More in there - and that can only be a compliment (FNM RIP)

peace
