The Most Unlistenable Songs Ever!

I'm listening to "Deathsex" by The Distillers right now and it is just pure noise!

What songs have you heard that are just near unlistenable noise (as opposed to songs that just irritate the hell out of you like "Don't Worry Be Happy")?

My choices:

Deathsex - Distillers
Screaming Slave - Nine Inch Nails
The Lord's Prayer - Siouxsie And The Banshees

The Distillers? Yeah, I can see how some of their songs might sound like noise. But they look cool doing it, right? haha I've listened to a lot of different forms of punk rock music in recent years, and I could give you a whole list. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of good stuff, but there's also a lot of... what did you call it? NOISE!

The songs that really get to me are the pop songs that repeat one line over and over and over again ("I've Got My Mind Set On You" or "I Miss You Like Crazy") or the songs that hit too close to home that it hurts too much to listen ("Cat's in the Cradle").

I love the rest of that album, and the album before it. I'm very much in favor of Brody and The Distillers - I just hate that damn song at the end of Coral Fang! lol

I think NIN's "Screaming Slave" has to be the worst one ever. It's like a dentist's drill in your ears. saw

I like pretty much everything else Brody has done but "Deathsex" is just 12 minutes of aimlessness. No melody, nothing.

i don't really mind when NIN gets loud and difficult, as long as it's not an aphex twin remix (and even then, it's one of the rare times that i can tolerate an aphex twin mix of someone else's music). it's not exactly something i'd play when i'm pitching woo with my sweetie on the porch swing, but i can handle it okay.

Sounds like a watching the Indianapolis 500 where none of the cars have tires -- just metal wheels on the pavement going round and round.

it just sounds to me like they got really stoned in the studio and started messing with all the pretty little dials and buttons, and they were more impressed with the results than perhaps they should have been.

I will strongly argue with anyone for any length of time that the worst song EVER recorded by anyone over the age of 5 is by our very own Prince and is call ANIMAL KINGDOM! Let the arguing commence!

"Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" -Britney Spears
"Senorita" -Justin Timberlake
"Cry Me a River" -Justin Timberlake
Everything by Celine Dion except possibly "It's All Coming Back Me Now." Maybe. And only in small doses.
"Just Lose It" -Eminem
"What Do U Want Me 2 Do?" -Prince
"Hot in Herre" -Nelly
"In Da Club" -50 Cent

That's all I can think of for now.

At least 50% of all music I listen to can be categorized as "noise"... so don't know about that unlisteneable part, but noise yes. I actually just a few days ago bought a power electronics remake of the "three little pigs & the big bad wolf" -story by Nod. Recommended.

i hear ya. two of my favorite bands are the residents and sonic youth, so noise is a friend of mine, too. still and all, there's such a thing as artfully done noise and just plain BAD noise.

The above mentioned should be set on fire, along with those that support and therefore allow the rest of the population suffer her noise--

Most unlistenable songs-- hmm.
Guns and roses-- jay-Z and Lenny Kravitz-- simplistic guitar i can stomach, but lets just keep it as an instrumantal only--

Do you Believe- Cher (headache inducing)

I'll be back

Also, do you think that ugly people are God's cruel joke on humanity (like the platypus and the heterosexual) or another form of population control?

You haven't heard unlistenable noise until you've heard...

Either it's to justify not selling it back to the wrecka stow, or else it's to punish my downstairs neighbors when they're making too much noise. Once when they were misbehaving, I put this CD in the stereo, turned the volume way up, then left for work. lol

I have heard this is the worst record ever.

I love Lou Reed, but I just can't quite buy it. Still, I want to hear it. The bad reviews are really intriguing, like for the movies Showgirls or now The Brown Bunny.
