Brits - Did You All Just See The New Band Aid Video?

It was very, very underwhelming.

It's an annoying song to start off with and they've made it even more annoying by having a long-drawn out "jam" type thingy at the end.

Madonna needs to cut her hair too. She's had that long centre-parted cut for too long now. It's ageing her.

I caught it after watching Neighbours on BBC1! It was really, really shit! Infact, i honestly think this is the worse thing i've heard this year! And i was not expecting anything good but this is just so painful.....the orignal seems alright and the vid is quite funny, but this was taken so seriously and Bono's lyric is so shit it is unbelievable!

The celebs were shit too and none of the voices flow together at all.....they tried to make it different by phrasing the words differently.....what bullshit! The rapper Dizzie rascal was not as bad as the others surprisenly.....this is the worse charity song I have heard ever!

Absolutely crap, with 0 power or passion, and infact, people like Boy George, Bono, george michael etc sounded good.....todays one (including Bono) sounded like shit.....y remake it with different phrasing? Y not just do a new song!

Best charity song of recent years? "what more can I give" with USA singers written and directed by Michael Jackson.....that song is how it should be done.....yet this quite beutiful song was never released! sad

I can't believe it was simultaneously on every TV channel. I'll buy it because of the charity but I'll give the record to my niece.

There are quite a few artists I like in this new version but the song sounds simply awful. The original sort of grew on me but this one repulses me.

Calm the hell down! Geldof himself asked Madonna to introduce the video: "Madonna was just a kid when she played at Live Aid 20 years ago. What I needed was someone with resonance who goes beyond the normal pop world and reaches everyone. When people buy this record they are making a political demand. Madonna understands that."

Not to overlook the fact that Madonna wanted to sing on the song, but Geldof refused to let her because she's a "Yank".

Besides, why is Madonna a "publicity seeking media fucking whore" for makign a contribution to a charity but when Michael Jackson writes an absolute piece of shit song "What More Can I Give" and pisses and moans because he's being slighted by not releasing a charity song, he's a saint?

don't tell me to calm down, if that's what geldof said, fine. Her star is on the wane though and he should have realised this. also that she wouldn't be needed in order for the song to sell in the UK. give it a couple of weeks and they'll cut madonna out and go straight to the song anyway. Basically that's it, SHE'S NOT NEEDED!

no comment on MJ as IRRELEVANT TO THE THREAD!

What's wrong? Madonna's only crime at present is having a terrible haircut. Women over a certain age really shouldn't have long hair.

Hey, don't dis' michaels "what more can I give"! Could madonna write a song like that? I do feel at the mo' she is trying so hard to be a brit! Y the fuck she wants to be i don't know.....

...Geldof must know how shit this song is and figures it won't matter as he knows people will buy it as it's 4 charity! Madonna jumping on the bandwagon? Never would I of thought that in a million years... biggrin .....she sure is a publicity seeking meida fucking whore iam afraid.....and that annoys me aswell!

I thought it wasn't so bad. It ain't a masterpiece but neither was the first one. It's more than just a single, what Band Aid stands for and has always stood for is much more important than that.

Madonna was an ideal person to introduce it. She couldn't perform but made a contribution. Give the woman a break.

And as for MJ...Jeees don't lets start on that desperado again!

Great cause ... shame about the roster of "talent". The current version of the song adds new depths to the word "bland".

The only part i liked was Madonna.
She makes everything interesting.

And Madonna being a media seeking whore is fine with me. Just the fact you fools getting mad over it makes Madonna win every time. It's how she lasted 20 years, keep it up dumbasses

Hey, Michael ain't one.....well he is but at least he goes away 4 4 years everytime.....plus some of the time he seems not to want the pulicity but gets it anyway!

And exactly, the only reason y she is stll here is because she is one....not due to good music at all!
