Anybody remember Lisa Fischer?

She sung "Ease the Pain". What happened to her and how could anyone let a voice like that go?

She could have given anybody a run for their money in the singing department!

Last I checked, she was one of Luther's background vocalist group(Along with Cissy Houston, Cindy Mizelle, Paulette McWilliams).

Yes, I remeber her very well. Over the last 14 years or so, she has been doing backing vocals for the Rolling Stones, Lurther Vandross, and Tina. It's a damn same that she has recorded another album. She can definitely sing her ass off(4 octive range) and has the Grammy to prove it.

She can saaang. She had such a successful debut as a solo artist, won a Grammy and then just disappeared (well kinda)....she continued to tour with Luther Vandross and The Rolling Stones. How Can I Ease The Pain was 1991, I think it's time for a new album.

I've seen a video footage of her backing Chaka Khan(circa 89),,,

At one point, Chaka let the girls improvise when she pre4med "Life Is A Dance". When Lisa got her turn, she scatted, growled and then blew a fiercely high note(ala Phillip Bailey from the song "Mighty Mighty"-STRONGER than Phillip's).

Chaka screamed, pointed at Lisa, then looked at the crowd and said "Can that bitch blow or what?" the crowd cheered then she said "Look out for Ms.Lisa Fisher next year everybody".

Damn, wish I could find that video. The whole thing was wild!

cool. I think she should release a new product...13 years later after a great debut and no follow up album, it's about time.

One more thing...I know she dated "Chris Walker" (an R&B singer who had the songs "Giving You All My Love" and "Love Tonight")...if you don't recognize his name and you are into R&B music, you would definitely know the songs once you've heard them. She is on his debut album and they sing a duet called "Someday" where she is singing her heart out.

Finally someone knows about Chris Walker!!! I remember seeing him on "Video Soul" with Donnie Simpson. He was a multi-instrumentalist/producer in addition to doing the solo thing. He mentioned on the show about dating Lisa Fischer. I remember thinking, you lucky bastard mad

Wonder whatever happened to him...

I recently found her cd for super cheap & bought it. The only song I actually like is "How Can I Ease the Pain". GREAT song, too bad they used computerized intruments & it sounds so dated. Imagine that live - WHOO!

Wow, so many replies. Glad to hear that she didn't fall completely out of music.

The reason that I had so much respect for her is because I heard her sing it live on Apollo one day. Trust me, she sounded better live! I couldn't believe it. SHe would be a total threat if she was still around.

Agreed. I guess she hasn't made any more albums b/c she feels more comfortable doing backup for othter singers.

In 1991,I bought the cassette single of "How Can I Ease The Pain" music

She's a very talented vocalist, and a very beautiful woman too.I expected her to become a huge solo artist.

As someone else said, she's been with the Rolling Stones for a while now, which is the only place I had heard of heard until now. Now I know a bit more about her, thanks!

By the way, is it just me that finds her REALLY foxy?!

She just looks like the kind of gal that could put a guy like me in my place.

Yes please!!!
