The beats on here are standout right along with Eminem's lyrics. This is a wonderful album, and breath of fresh air on the "hip"ocracy of the bullshit on the radio out now.

Amen! Whether anyone like Prince's music or not, it was made from scratch with an original idea and lyrics were sang not "spoken", instruments were played, and a sample and an impression was not the whole foundation of the songs. Eminem is the new millenium's version of Weird Al Yankovic....except Weird Al was a lot more hip and had a lot more soul.

With this album, Eminem proves that he doesn't have to make hits to prove his talent. I can't believe he samples Martika and Heart and makes it work. The beats are there and the lyrics are better than ever. It is an emotional album as well. Even if you are not a rap fan, check this out. It might make you one.

THis is a VAST improvement on a very dissapointing "Eminem Show".

And finally a Rap CD WITHOUT mentioning cars, hoes, rims, clubs, drunk & crunk. this year.

But I guess when Lil John and Ludacris new bullshit comes out, no one will care about a Rap album without lyrics, storylines, with repetitive beats that will expire by next year, and videos with half neaked lightskinned and white girls everywhere.

Being a huge fan of Eminem, I expected a lot more from this cd than he delivered. Eminem's albums have never been just about "cars, hoes, rims, clubs, drunk and crunk", so I didn't expect him to suddenly start rapping about those topics on his fourth album. However, after the excellent Eminem Show, I did expect him to maintain the level of maturity of the aforementioned album and its follow up soundtrack.

Instead he delivered the most sophomoric album of his entire career (and that's really saying something). I think this cd is even more immature than the Slim Shady LP; What happened to the meaningful tracks like "White America", "Square Dance", "Til I Collapse", "Soldier", Say Goodbye Hollywood", "Lose Yourself", "8 Mile", "Rabbit Run" and "Stan"? In their place, we get toilet humor ("Puke", "Just Lose It", "Em calls Paul") terrible rhymes ("Big Weenie", "My 1st Single" "Ass Like That"), and sub-Kayne West sampling ("Like Toy Soldiers").

I went into this CD without prejudice, and I must say that I am extremely disappointed in it. If Em wants to maintain a level of critical approval, then he's gotta put out a more challenging album next time around.

Eminem being serious is just not him. I was expecting this CD to be really serious and lush, but man he had me laughing, thinking, bumping. I hope he never turns in2 50 Cent, Youngbuck or any of his other proteges. I accepted 8Mile soundtrack because it fit in with the film. If I had a CD like that FULL of that I would be so through.

I guess this is the "Lovesexy" / "Batman" era of Eminem's carrer. LOL. Sum love it, some hate it.

I was glad I got a serious Em, but mostly the fun side of Em.
