Cher touring with the Village People....renames her tour "the Never Can Say Goodbye" Tour

Cher's never-ending "farewell tour" has been going on for almost three years now! She returns to my area on January 21,with the Village People as her opening act (I guess Cyndi Lauper was busy, lol). She has renamed her tour after an old Jackson Five hit "Never Can Say Goodbye".

This is either totally insane,or a sheer stroke of marketing genuis. What do you think? lol

I think the tour is slowly transforming into a weekly chart show extravaganza!
Date of expiration: 2015!

Finding a way to say goodbye for years and years must be another tidbit that "stuck" with her after her relationship with Gene Simmons. razz

Be it neverending, super gay, non-stop - I don't care. I saw her on the Believe tour, and it was an excellent show! But get it over with so she can concentrate on film! I like her as a singer, but I love her as an actress!

Oh that's nothing

Last Halloween she was at Skydome with the Village People, Sister Sledge, and some other 80s people being the opening act.
And it was encouraged to dress up.

Yes it was the gayest Halloween of my life

I love Cher on record and her movies tend to be really hit or miss (but when they are good, like "Moonstruck", they are really good). That being said, I have her concert videos and really liked the shows but I couldn't imagine seeing her live. The DVD experience is good enough.

Conan said it "The Gayest Show On Earth" or something like that since Cher said her show was "The Cherest Show On Earth".

I remember hearing about that and she wore some kind of witch outfit instead of her usual thing to open. She was pretty insistant that it would be the final show (and at that point, it was a year and half into the tour, which had been so succesful that it yielded a live album, a huge selling Best Of, a hit television special which had been out so long that it wa on DVD! And meanwhile, the album that the tour was supposed to support, "Living Proof", came and went with very low sales but many hit singles on the dance charts. It's to the point where used copies of that album sell for pennies. I've even seen the import pretty cheap in retail stores.
