highly, highly recommended. i bought this last week and i've been savoring every page. there are some great essays about hip-hop and urban music in this edition, including some really nice stories on eminem, r. kelly and lauryn hill...there's a lot of other good stuff to be had, too - a great article about how girl music fans feel about emo, some good writing on johnny cash and a list of the best love songs of the past 69 years, compiled by michaelangelo matos (who wrote the book about SOTT that came out this year).

i can't recommend this book enough. you don't have to be a fan of a lot of the subjects of the stories in this volume to enjoy the writing. anyone who appreciates and enjoys popular culture and modern music will drool over this.
