Wang Chung

What the hell was their deal?
Does Wang Chung mean something?
AisanBomb777 - can you answer this?

I always laugh when I hear Dance Hall Days, just the staccato way he says the words...

I like "Dance Hall Days". I admit I liked "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" back in 1986, but that song has not aged well. Lordy.

Just burn those two tracks onto a disc. There's your greatest hits comp.

And if it wasn't for the Everybody have fun...they might have been a one hit wonder.

It caused me to laugh my ass off when Bill Murray sang it on SNL as guest host...now that I think about it, he sang "1999" too. Hilarious stuff.

They've said in interviews that it's the sound you make when you strum a guitar down, then back up.

Go figure. confused

I will also admit to digging Dance Hall Days and Everybody Have Fun Tonight.

"Let's Go" was actually a U.S. top 10 hit also, but no one really remembers that song so much.

i actually liked Wang Chung until Everybody Have Fun Tonight, which is simply horrific. It's a shame, because the follow-up single "Let's Go" was actually pretty good.

But their first album is a pretty decent new wave/rock album... POINTS ON A CURVE. With "Don't Let Go" and "Dance Hall Days", which are both pretty good, IMO.

biggrin
