they sure did. i know most people think of the psychedelic beatles but when they first hit with introducing the beatles and meet the beatles they were just young heartthrobs making the girls go gaga while singing kiddie pop love songs. what made them great was the dirt and grime underneath of that image...but it was a while before they let that show, lol.

All's I was saying was that INXS (who are Australian by the way ) and Duran Duran are not considered "boy bands" because they're serious fucking musicians who have creative control of their work and management. They never entered the music business with the intention of being tenn idols/pinups. That was just something that the media created around them. For fuck's sake, by the time INXS hit it big with "Kick" in 1987, they were approaching their 30's.

On the other hand, OK, so maybe the Jackson 5 did actually play instruments. But did they write their songs? No. Were they driven by a manager? Yes, their father, in fact. Did they produced their work? No. Maybe later on they did when they signed to Columbia, but by then they were pushing their 20's and were past their whole teen idol/pinup thing.

But let's get one thing straight here. I said nothing about comparing races. I'm just telling it like it is.

I really like Boyzone. I have a friend who listened to them when she was really depressed and it she said it helped a lot.Easy on the eyes too.
