Next NIN album pushed to next spring

Originally planned for later this year, the release date for Nine Inch Nails' next album has been bumped to March 2005. NIN mastermind Trent Reznor has also scrapped the provisional title for the set, "Bleedthrough." On the group's official Web site, he reports, "As the songs and concepts matured, the focus and theme of the album shifted somewhat -- leaving me feeling that title was inappropriate."

Although he declined to reveal the new title or a track list, Reznor insists the album will be finished and mixed before the end of the year. "Extensive touring will take place around" the new release date, he adds. A single will precede the album release.

With sessions having been spread over several years time, it's no surprise that Reznor has more than an album's worth of material at his disposal. "There are a lot more songs finished that won't be on this record," he says. "So who knows where they might end up."

Reznor adds that he "will no longer have anything to do with" Nothing Records, the label for which he has recorded since the mid-'90s. Reznor's relationship with Nothing president John Malm fell apart in recent years; Malm sued the artist this spring to recover $2 million in unpaid commissions, while Reznor counter-sued for breach of contract and fiduciary duty. The next NIN album will be released by Nothing parent Interscope.

As previously reported, Interscope will on Nov. 23 release a deluxe edition of NIN's 1994 album "The Downward Spiral" as well as a dual-disc DVD-audio edition of the set.

Dude. You make NIN-hating sound so uncool. Please revise your NIN-hating tactis before posting another inflammatory comment. There should be some standards for this kind of thing, you know. Looser.

Damn, I'm convinced.
When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act as a prism and form a rainbow. The rainbow is a division of white light into many beautiful colors. Regardless of the day, I'm glad you were born.
