The tribute to Syd barret,
a nine part epic that stretches up to 22 minutes
now i know what the popular thought of this song is
it would of made a great 4 or 5 min song instead of 22
But you have to admit this one of Floyds timeless tracks
Waters and Gilmours writing give it strength
Gilmour's Melodic guitar playing on midleve distortion on a strat
Is brilliant
Richard Wrights keyboard solos are mind boggling
the incorporation of saxaphones, Wind effects,
this has everything a floyd fan loves
Waters Taoist like lyrics
Waters and gilmours electric guitar playing
one of the top songs in my opinion

One of the greats! Takes a while to get going, but it's one of the best Pink Floyd songs ever.

And I think every stoner has had his mind blown by the guitar coming in on Wish You Were Here.

I heard Syd barrett showed up at the studio around that time, totally unrecognizable, wanting to contribute.

the first time i became familiar w/ this song was on the Collection of Great Dance Songs compilation... so i'm used to that shorter version of it, and that is how i prefer it. (i know - sacrilege).

Good music for toking up (not that I would ever do that).

Off the main topic but "Have A Cigar" is pretty funky...
