Its 1993 self-titled set, known as "The Wedding Album" (Capitol), bowed at No. 7 with 79,000 and for now remains the group's best-selling effort in the SoundScan era with a to-date total of 1.5 million.

"Astronaut" marks a significant rise from the last album credited to Duran Duran, 2000's "Pop Trash" (Hollywood). The set -- which featured only singer Simon LeBon and keyboardist Nick Rhodes from the original lineup, along with latter era guitarist Warren Cuccurullo -- had opening week sales of 11,000 copies and crept onto the chart at No. 135."

I was expecting a higher debut, like Top 10, but hopefully it will build in the upcoming weeks.

I'm so mad at myself, and I do this more times than not. So it's midnight, I'm reclining a bit, but I figured I would stay awake to watch them on Leno. Of course, I fall asleep and wake up at 1:00. Next time I'm setting an alarm or sit in front of the computer.

It'll be number 1, for sure.... It is such a great album, I play it since october 8 evryday a few times, and it still grows on me!!!

Well.... seeing what they are up against... it's a very different market now. I'm glad they are up there at all. I'm glad they have a 4-album deal. I'm happy they are on shows like Leno, etc... Maybe next time there will be lots of new fans and their popularity will just keep building!!!

But this might be the highest it debuts unless Sunrise or the next single gets more airplay. Their US promotion tour is probably wrapping up after LA and their tour doesn't begin til January ( I think) - I think as far as charts/album sales go Europe will have the higher response than the US.

Now if they want to cheat billboard, they COULD hand out ASTRONAUT at their concerts (like someone else we know did)

It might go to #1 in Adult Comtemporary...

Personally, I'm thrilled that it debuted in the top twenty!

I'm liking this cd better than I thought I would.It's catchy pop and the bass booms in me ride.It's recorded in a pwerful way.Very dynamic sound.

I have a timer on my tv, so I use that instead of an alarm clock. I have it set to turn on at 5:30am on VH1. This morning the second video that played was Sunrise!!! How appropriate! I heard the video was #19 on the top 20.
