A-Ha - Take On Me

No matter how many times you've heard it, or saw the video, it's still an 80's classic!

thumbs up!

I love this video, the way they combined cartoon drawings with actual video footage. Great song, too. thumbs up!

shrug I used to hate how the media would compare them to Duran Duran all the time. The magazines would have polls asking who was better. Why? So this song is aiiiiight to me. I like the keyboard part, but this guys voice is lame... He's no Simon... wink I used to like the Cry Wolf song, but that's it.

i like this song, but in a way I hate it because it basically buried A-HA in the US. They are forever known for this one song in America, which is a shame because they were a great band with a LOT of great stuff.

East of the Sun, West of the Moon is one of my favorite records from the late 80's, early 90's.

Well, they were known for that as well as the James Bond theme, "The Living Daylights".

WOW!!! ....A-ha are gods man! They were so underated as musicians and songwriters. Some of their stuff really appeals to me because it's so prog! Their song "Soundral Days" will blow you your mind if you've not heard it before. I's really love to hear a metal version of this in the same vain that Paradise Lost coverd 'Small Town Boy" .. that would rock! "The sun always shines on TV" is another prog classic ... just listen to it again!. I love Duran Duran but I think A-ha have more balls!!

The follow up album Memorial Beach is also a great one.

Yeah, Take On Me is a fine tune. One of the best singles of the 80's.

Memorial Beach is good, but not on par (IMO) with East of the Sun... MB has some strong tracks, but East of the Sun is just stellar from start to finish.

I really dig Dark is the Night for All.... another in a long list of "SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOP 10 HITS IN AMERICA" for a-ha....

Do you know i totally forgot about Manhattan Skyline! biggrin ... Do any of their other albums compare to Soundral days anybody? We had their Greatist hits blasting out in work and some of the ignorant comments that came out of people's mouth made me wonna wrestle then in a ring on a pay-per-view!!!

all of their albums are certainly worthy... if you like Scoundrel Days, I highly recommend East of the Sun, West of the Moon and Memorial Beach.

Actually, just get all of them smile They're all really good.

Scoundrel Days is a bit more 80's new-wave sounding than their later albums - it has a really unique sound.
