it's really really good. and the only way i see it topping Johnny Cash's similar comeback stuff with Rick Ruben, in my mind, is that all of these are originals written by Loretta herself.

Oh yeah, and with Jack White playing guitar and producing the entire album. That too.

It is an amazing album, whereas Prince would have had Loretta sing JAGUAR, White lets Lynn do what she does best. He lets Loretta be the mould, instead of tripping on his own stuff...

Glad you caught on and posted without thinking you were weird.

This the the BEST cd of 2004 I have purchased.

I hope it is nominated for a Grammy for Album of the year, not just Country album, and it should win. Nothing has come close, IMO

i wouldn't go so far as to say loretta's album is my favorite album of the year, but i do think it's the most amazing accomplishment of the year, and certainly deserving of a lot of recognition at the grammys. nod

i've held myself back from starting a "best of 2004" thread, cuz ya never know - something could come out in the next two months that could kick our butts.

so far, the best CD i bought this year is "louden it up" by !!!. nod

Isn't the cut off date for consideration like the third week in Nov.?

Even cds by U2 and other Nov. Dec. releases will have to go on my best of 2005 list. I have been let down by many of this years crop, and would someone please dismember Usher for me!
