I had high expectations of this release, so high I even paid $25 to get it before it was released in the states. I should've waited until I saw it in the used or cut out bin. There was a lot of hype surrounding it and with good reason, one would think that a person from the P-funk camp going solo was a long time coming and he'd have a lot to say musically. It just turned out to be some bland neo-soul shit! Though the first track is off the hook, there just wasn't enough of that throughout the rest of the album. [Edited 10/12/04 17:31pm]

Agreed , this lp just sounds tired. Just following a lame trend.
His first lp is the bomb!! The entire P-Funk MOb is on it including Eddie Hazel. You won't be disappointed.

His album may be disappointing, but he is a brilliant live act . I've seen him live twice this year and I was overwhelmed . With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Yeah, "With Respect(1990)" is a much better intro to Amp Fiddler... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

"With Respect" is seriously or will be seriously slept on. It is 100 times better than his latest effort. Every track smokes on his first one. It's definitely worth seeking out.
I will have to check him out live! Seen him many times with The P. And have met him and spoken over the phone with him several times. Nice dude.

late pass.
I seriously need to start saving my reviews for occasions such as these... "Pedro offers you his protection."
