This came about, because I was looking for new sly sites that I hadn't seen before, and lo-n-behold, the top Google hit is http://www.slystone.com/

It's a new site, looks pretty good, but all the links are innactive - they just take you to a 'page underconstruction' message, with a nice pic of Sly et al. from what I guess is the RnRHOF ceremony or something similar. So's, I notice a link from the sly site to a 'sister' site, funnily enough dedicated to Sly's girl group, 'Little Sister' http://www.slyslilsis.com/

Aaaanyway, from THAT site (also not complete it seems), I descovered some memorobelia for sale...particularly some really cool prints of Sly, signed by himself. It also seems that the site is run by his sister (Vet) and various other family members...including her husband, Steve Reese, who apparently heads marketing. So, I decided to email him, asking how Sly was doing, oh and whether the signatures were printed ofcourse Yeah they're printed, but what he told me about Sly far outways my shallow side

This "under construction" site has been going on for

Yeah Sly music is tight! He can "still" write without it sounding like an old artist.

A good friend hooked me up with his number, we had several conversations. Now this was in 1990 he was going to come with something and still he hasn't come with anything. Sly is a funk hermit and I think the drug thing is what really scares him from coming back into the limelight.

THIS is what I've wanted to hear. Sly is god, or at least one of the pantheon of my musical gods and I've always hoped he was still active. I hope he releases something soon. I think I've determined that Fresh is the funkiest album of all time
