After some thinking, i think i agree about the race issue. Having said that i suspect if MJ still looked like he did in 1980, you might be saying something else shrug what really bothers me is that Eminem deems child molestation fair subject matter for a joke, whether MJ is guilty or not, that doesn't sit well with me.

"man pleeeeease.." hell. There was one time MJ was beloved in our community, despite all the stupid things he has done ie..the mutilation of his face..etc...there is still some loyalty to MJ as being a black man. Yes as a black man I am going to be sensitive to some over-hyped, culture-stealing white boy making fun of MJ or any black person. I think the video is stupid and out of line period....

Why does it matter that it's a blue-eyed white boy doing a parody against a black man? Would the video be OK if it was a black guy doing it or would you still think the video should be pulled? Why does it have to be about race and not the fact that it is ENTERTAINMENT television? I watch BET more than any other music channel simply because they play the music I like to hear.

By the way, I'm a blue-eyed white boy too. lol

MJ was beloved before he started molesting children. The freak. He deserves all the fun that people make of him for the allegations against him. Would it be any different if the people on SNL did a skit about MJ? I think you are just mad at the fact that it's a white guy doing it. You sound pretty prejudice to me. The fact that you made it about race in the first place tells me that.

Glad to see living proof that you are keeping racism alive and well in America.

You say "there is still some loyalty to MJ as being a black man"... confused

So he can be a child molester, but its ok if he's black? Or you cut him loose from his black roots when he crosses a line you decide on?

"I'm keeping racism live and well in America" How easy for white people to say that when they never experienced it...lol That always cracked me up...Come on down to the South baby!!! Go to Jasper, Texas where it is 30 miles from where I grew up and ask James Byrd that (The black man who was dragged to death because he was black!!!)..but that is a whole different issue.

I'm done I am not going to be debating with white people on how a black person COULD be sensitive to this issue.

MJ is child molester, well that has not been proven yet!!! Again a whole different issue.

Let me say this, don't even know why I am saying it. I grew up in Beaumont, Texas which is very near the Louisian border. Growing up in the late 60's and 70's I saw complete total segregation.

For example playing football on a all black team and traveling to play a all-white team, our bus is pelted by rocks but we never did that if that team was coming to our home stadium all we wanted to do is kick their asses fair and square on the football field.

When you grow up that way it is going to have a effect on you, it is issues that myself and a whole lot brutha's and sista's have had to deal with all our lives. I don't care what color you are, you can be my best friend. It is just when a white guy who is captilizing off our culture to begin with does something like this, how it is possible for a black person such as myself won't like it.

I grew up as a white kid in an all black neighborhood and was picked on quite a bit by black people but I don't let that affect my view of blacks. Why do you think I listen to groups like EPMD, Rakim, BDP...etc. I would have never been exposed to it had I grown up in the suburbs. It's not like that music was played on the radio.

So should white people get mad when blacks mimic Vanilla Ice? No. I can see how people in general can take offense to Eminem. But to say that only blacks can be sensitive to that issue is plain ignorant. I'm sorry you had to deal with the things you dealt with growing up but that should just make you want to change your views even more. Segregation is wrong and being you lived with it you should be talking about changing that view point and not sticking with it.

Just my thoughts.

yes, but you're acting like he's being made fun of because he's black. that simply isn't the case. he's being made fun of for being a freak and an accused child molestor. race is about the last thing that comes into play when one pokes fun of Michael Jackson (except for the fact that he doesn't look like the same person anymore), no matter how many times in the last few years he's tried to play that card (with Tommy Mottolla and the latest round of molestation charges).

but hey, i can understand people being outraged by Eminem. but it's funny how everything was hunky dory when he was just degrading women and gays. then again, you don't see anyone screaming bloody murder "how dare he make fun of a white woman!" for his comic portrayal of Madonna in the video.
