B.E.T pull eminem video out of rotation at michael's request

Michael Jackson has not taken kindly to the way he's portrayed in rapper Eminem's recently released video, "Just Lose It." The pop singer is so upset that he has asked networks to remove the video from their playlists.

"Michael Jackson is very angry. He feels that Eminem has crossed the line," Jackson representative Ramone Bain said in today's (Oct. 12) New York Daily News. "Michael is calling on all networks to pull the video. It's one thing to spoof someone, it's another to be completely insensitive and disrespectful."

Jackson even called in to Los Angeles radio station KKBT's "The Steve Harvey Morning" show today to discuss the video. "I've admired Eminem as an artist, and was shocked by this," he said. "The video was inappropriate and disrespectful to me, my children, my family and the community at large."

In the video, Eminem appears dressed mockingly as Jackson with a group of boys in the background, jumping up and down. He then references Jackson's child molestation allegations: "Come here little kiddie, on my lap. Guess who's back with a brand new rap..."

Later in the video, Eminem also ridicules Jackson's penchant for plastic surgery and a 1984 accident in which his hair caught on fire while filming a Pepsi commercial.

So far, Black Entertainment Television has agreed to pull the video but MTV says it will keep it in rotation. "Just Lose It" is the first single from Eminem's new album, "Encore," due Nov. 16 via Shady/Interscope.

If Michael didn't want people making fun of him, he shouldn't be screwing little boys.

I usually don't have a problem with Eminem's humour (tasteless though it may be) but this I thought crossed the line. The lyrics mention MJ once in passing, but the majority of the video focuses on him.

Regardless of whether or not Michael is guilty, this video was just plain tacky.

I haven't seen the video so I probably shouldn't comment, but I think there are some things that you just shouldn't make light of.Child molestation is a very serious charge and,and I think it's wrong for any artist to spoof it,or make it a part of a music video.I feel the same way about comedians who make jokes about Michael molesting children. It's just tasteless and tacky.Child molestation is a traumatic experience and I don't think it works as "comedy".

so when will MJ be taken out of society?

and,and I think it's wrong for any artist to spoof it,or make it a part of a music video.I feel the same way about comedians who make jokes about Michael molesting children.

this will go on & on.....who cares??? What I still don't understand since the last MJ-child molesting scandal is: what parent lets his kid spend time with MJ alone?

the vid is funny, Em is pushing the envelop in his trashy way, the way we are used by him.....nothing special!

Oh,I agree. The parents are just as guilty,as far as I'm concerned.

This guy went too far. Anyway, there aren't any great artists who are remembered for their dissing. I guess that makes him forgotten very soon. cool

no one says shit when the guy spoofs himself, but shit make fun of MJ?.. OMG u got the guy crucified. If Mj cannot laugh at himself then in my opinion it shows some kind of guilt on Mj's behalf.he must look in the mirror everyday and go "what the fuck did i do to myself".

call me what you want but hell, its only entertainment folks,if Mj cant findthe humor in any of it?. then there's a problem indeed.but i digress.

Yeah! He should totally be able to find some humor in those molestation charges that have all but ruined his career. confused I have no comment on the video or song - I've not seen or heard either - but to suggest that he should be able to laugh at the controversy seems a bit off to me.

You're right. You didn't; I misread. But I'm guessing that if he's gone to that extreme with surgery for whatever reason(s), he isn't going to be able to laugh at all about his appearance. I don't wanna re-re-re-debate the charges, but yeah, I think the charges have contributed to the demise of his career. I don't think they're the sole factor - he hasn't changed his style for the better in a long, long while.

It really does mention michael blatantly calling him out as a molester

its a parody
If it was me, i wouldn't care
but i guess i don't have self esteem problems like good ole mike

I think if ppl TRULY protested the videos shown, they would. I think more ppl complain than they actually write or call the network.

BET ONLY pulled because of MJ but I think they should think about what and who they are supporting. MJ SAID the kids play in his room, jumps on his bed and has pillow fights. MJs hair did catch on fire and it was rumored that his nose fell off. lol shrug

I see NOTHING wrong with the video. I thought is was funny.

Why does it matter that it's a blue-eyed white boy doing a parody against a black man? Would the video be OK if it was a black guy doing it or would you still think the video should be pulled? Why does it have to be about race and not the fact that it is ENTERTAINMENT television? I watch BET more than any other music channel simply because they play the music I like to hear.

By the way, I'm a blue-eyed white boy too. lol

seems like an extremely hollow gesture, since BET and MTV are sister stations. they can cover both bases this way. one pulls it, one keeps it in heavy rotation.

Im sorry but race has alot to do with this
People don't like white people making fun of black people in any aspect
even if it is Michael Jackson
its offensive
if Eminem was a black rapper he wouldn't be as famous as he is now
and we wouldn't be having this convo
Black artist can do a parody on MJ and it wouldn't make much of difference
But since eminem is white
its all HYPE

Eminem may have no talent but the fact that he's a successful WHITE rapper he's a superstar
if he was black he'd just be another black rapper,

And if it was a black rapper making fun of MJ
it wouldn't F*ckin matter...

RACE has alot to do with this
