GREATEST THIRD ALBUMS This might seem like a ridiculous thread (and might have been done already) but during a long road trip this past weekend, a friend and I had a discussion about the greatest debuts and sophomore releases. For fun, we decided to focus on the greatest third albums by various artists. We were quite shocked at the masterpieces that ended up on the list. Check it out and add:

Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible.
Not only a great third album, but, for my money, a serious contender for best album ever recorded. This album stunned and shocked me when I heard it ten years ago on its release, and still stands as an amazing, dare I say it, work of art. If you haven't heard this album, approach with caution, as it is very hard-going and a very sombre listen, but your patience will be rewarded. [Edited 10/14/04 3:41am] | |
