Radiohead - Kid A - Hidden Track

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody here knows what the title of the hidden track on "Kid A" is.

I've searched most of the official and unofficial radiohead fansites but, well, let's be honest, without a flashlight and a year's supply of tinned soup you won't get far.....

If you don't know the name of the track but just like or love Radiohead, feel free 2 post your oppinions on the last few albums.....

Thanx!

I don't think that hidden track has any title.
I love Radiohead. They are my second favorite artists next to Prince. I have to admit, I haven't heard them in a while, though. I overplayed both Kid A and Amnesiac and all the singles with b-sides. I saw them live last year, too in June. You know, now that I think about it, my fascination ended after Sept. 11. I don't know why. I guess before it was all about me and my problems (and Radiohead is great to listen to when you have problems) but the world, in my opinion, changed and just like that I stopped listening. BUT I do still love them and check Radiohead.com (the news section) everyday just as I do Prince.Org. hoping for new album information.
Radiohead is another group I can't get my friends to appreciate (like Prince). They won't go past "Creep". Here I am listening to all this genius music with no one to appreciate it with. :>(

Funny...I was just listening to OK COMPUTER while checking my e-mails...I dont believe that hidden track on KID A has a title....

I love Radiohead and have all 6 releases plus some bootlegs.....if you ask me I think their LIVE album was a joke considering they could've released an entire concert....my bootlegs are far better!!! Without the artwork though....

Fav album: toss up between THE BENDS and AMNESIAC

I love em all but these two I listen to the most...THE BENDS takes me back to my first year in college and trying to learn "Just" and "Fake Plastic Trees" on guitar....and AMNESIAC takes me back to last summer when I was hired by EMI Music Group (Capitol Records) and hosted an official listening party for that album...it was awesome to be able to do that for one of my fav bands!!!!!

Peace

Speaking of Capitol, I'm listening to the Beatles White Album right now. Classic!

Maybe it's just me, but I was really disappointed with the I Might Be Wrong EP. I really only enjoyed True Love Waits and the Spinning Plates. Thom Yorke seems to screw up a lot live. I don't know if he performs drunk sometimes or what, but I winced when his voice cracked during the The National Anthem (my favorite song off Kid A) when he sang Everyone... Everyone aRO(crack)UND here. But the concert I went to last year was great. No flaws, just awsome. I guess I like the polished studio versions better.
Now Prince on the other hand, I've NEVER heard him screw a vocal up live.

I've just asked this question on the radiohead newsgroup (alt.music.radiohead).

3 replies - 2 of which didn't believe it had a title, and one person, who said " 'genchildren' apparently".

Hope this helps??

Danny...

I agree! White Album is incredible!!!

"My Guitar Gently Weeps","Yer Blues","Happiness Is A Warm Gun"...and like 20+ other Beatles tunes shifting gears like a motorbike on heroin!!!!!

I tend to listen to RUBBER SOUL ("Nowhere Man" is one of my ALL TIME favs) and ABBEY ROAD (a classic concept album and "Something" makes me choke up everytime..RIP George!) more that WHITE but those 3 are my top Beatles picks!!!!
Close contender....REVOLVER..what else!!????

"Genchildren" is indeed the name of that track. I knew I had read it somehwere in an interview with Thom but I just couldn't remember xactly. I even doubted if that wasn't a mention of a completely different track.

But now that I see the title Genchildren again I remember that it is indeed the title of the hidden track.

I like all of their stuff, OK Computer is just amazing, but I do have a softspot for the KID A and AMNESIAC songs. They're just so different from anything else out there.

The b-sides released on the amnesiac singles are some of the best songs actually. If U put them all 2gether on one disc they could almost make another 'new' album.

Perhaps anyone also knows of some outtakes from these sessions that are good enough soundquality to stick on this disc????

01. The Amazing Sounds Of Orgy
02. Worry Wort
03. Rabbit In Your Headlights*
04. Fast Track
05. Kinetic
06. Trans Atlantic Drawl
07. Worry Wort
08. Cuttooth
09. Life In A Glass House [Full Version]

* Ok, not a b-side from Amnesiac singles but a great song and it fits the mood really well, reminds me a bit of a less emotional version of "Pyramid Song".

Ok, my mistake, one of the Worry Wort's should B replaced by FOG, obviously.

Ah, those boys in Radiohead. I actually made a b-sides mixer - good tracks to fill the disc are the Airbag EP b-sides, UNKLE's Rabbit in Your Headlights, Talk Show Host from Romeo & Juliet - also the ripped version of Exit Music (For a Film that you can find online, and I've Seen It All from Selmasongs (Thom Yorke/Bjork duet from the soundtrack to Dancer in the Dark). um...I mean, "You vill looz."
I must break you.

Cool. I'd forgotten about the duet with Bjork. The style of that songs fits in very well with the songs the Amnesiac singles.

I've also downloaded "talkshow host" and I like it.

Just remembered, Thom also contributed vocals to PJ Harvey record "stories from the city stories from the sea". One of them is really good. [the one with Yorke taking most of the vocals smile]

Serious? Personally I think "Amnesiac" is the more accessible one when compared with "Kid A".

I thought 'Kid A' was a bit hard to get into and 'Amnesiac' just sounded like a perfect, brilliant record at 1st listen.

But perhaps that is because 'Kid A' made me aware of what to expect.

Starting from 'Kid A', moving on to 'Amnesiac' and finally the 8 trax that were released as B-sides 2 the 'Amnesiac' singles, I think the music becomes more and more rhythmic and structured.

"Fog" is simply breathtakingly beautiful. I get goosebumps all over whenever I listen to that song. Very very good.

I'm very very anxious as to what their next album is going to sound like. But I hope they don't drop this fase of experimentation completely. Some guitar songs would be nice but I'd like to see them continue this extraordinary musical envelope-pushing.
