Forbidden Colours by Ryuichi Sakamoto and David Sylvian

One of the most haunting songs ever to hit the charts. In the UK it hit nr 16 as highest position in 1983, which says enuf about charts (they suck).

I remember seeing the movie and was blown away by the performances. Shocking.

But the music drove it home, Ryuichi Sakamoto haunting soundtrack is still one of the moodiest I know in film music, highly original and SO beautiful.

He's very good. I have heard that the new one is really excellent.

They are INCREDIBLE together. I've read about some new works by David Sylvian but can't find them anywhere (two are Mothlight and For The Love Of Life). The movie (Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence) had me sobbing and sobbing. David Bowie transcends everyone with an aura that is unexplainable. As I recall, the movie version doesn't have the Sylvian lyrics. His words and voice add so much depth to Ryuichi's magikal instrumentals. BTW ~ Bananacologne told me that Forbidden Colours was not going to be included in the recent Japanese reissue of Secrets Of The Beehive. I cannot even phathom that ~ this is such an amazing disc and the FC ending it makes it pure perfection.

It's great to see interest in these 2 great Artist's! I'm a particular fan of David Sylvian at the moment,and British Avante Garde music of the 70's& 80's.

Try to find a new release by David Sylvian called For The Love Of Life. I was finally able to locate it and it is STUNNING! Still can't find Mothlight.
