Best Movie Soundtrack Ever?

To me , it's Curtis Mayfield's Superfly. Tight from beginning to end. Just as powerful now as it was in 1972.

It's one of my favorite movies. I dig all of Russ Meyer's work. Have a lot of his films on tape.

Again, this topic was discussed not too long ago. The best? I have MANY faves, but if someone put a pistol up to my temple, I would say Curtis's "Superfly", followed hella close by the "Saturday Night Fever" soudtrack or even "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". That soundtrack is brilliant. Like I said though, there are MANY that I believe to be great.

I was thinking about buying the soundtrack. I'm waiting for the movie to be released on DVD, but now that Russ Meyer has passed away, who knows when the rest of his films will be transferred onto disc.

Again.... mad Touched an angst nerve of mine.

I have been waiting for that for a while now. I don't know why this one and Faster Pussycat are not on DVD yet...as those were the two famous non-nudie ones. I do know that he liked to keep stuff rare and hard to get (FPKK goes for $75 VHS eek )

My friend did tell me that once a soundtrack gets re-done or re-issued that's usually a sign of good things to come. Russ was also battleing dementia so, that could have been a deterant too.

I think/hoping for the opposite...that due to his death, we'd see these released finally and properly.

Hell half of them are ALLL good in my book. This franchise has produced some of the best movie title soundtracks ever

View to a kill
Spy who loved me
FOr your eyes only
Diamonds are Forever
Man with the Golden Gun

Although View to a Kill...sigh...did you realize that that song is played like 30 times throughout the movie? Even in little places like the big band playing it on the wedding boat Bond Crashes on.

I could mention Shaft, Purple Rain, Parade, O Brother Where Art Thou? and several others, but at the risk of sounding like the lone voice crying out in the wilderness, I vote for:
