Ahhh, u shouldn't have! (blush) If u dig her, u should DEFINATELY check out Ruth Copeland. she wrote a few early Parliament cuts on the 1971 Osmium album but u need to get her two albums "Self Portrait" and 'I Am What I Am"which has Funkadelic as her back up band. Those albums are KILLING. Eddie Hazel does some of his best shit on those recordings. As Ruth went out n tour to support her second album, Funkadelic members Eddie Hazel, Billy Nelson, Bernie worrell and Tiki Fulwood served as her band as they were theopening act for Sly Stone no less!

When Wendy and Lisa played the Roxy in 1998 Susannah fronted the band for "If I'm in Luck I Just Might Get Picked Up" (not sure if that's the right title) from Betty Davis. I would love to hear Betty's version though.

I know huh? She wrote a song about Jimi and everything. I'd say she was a tad "turned out" by Jimi.

Wendy & Lisa actually did that for me (don't hate)...They did it as a thanks for my Wendy & Lisa site I put together (years ago) when there was no Wendy & Lisa on the net. They along with Betty Davis was one of the featured artists...Both sites are still up and you can view them. Let's just say the ladies were regular visitors and I have a few things that they have sent me (for all non-believers) now that I think about it I probably should post on the site...

Oh, also, Joi does a cover of the same song on her unreleased album "The Amoeba Cleansing Syndrome" with Fishbone as her backing band.

Miles was her husband, not her boyfriend (the last name Davis)...Yes, she is still alive and I believe living in Pittsburgh, PA (where she's from.) I recall a few years ago some azz posted her home phone number and address on the net and people were calling her left and right and Vibe even tried to get an interview out of it. She eventually changed her number and just wanted to be left alone and live her life...

I was totally into Betty since day one! Have all her albums. Graham Pointers Sisters and some of Carlos' boys were on the first album. It slams!
