Blur - Girls & Boys

What do you think about this song?

My friend's not a fan of it, but I heart it!

There's this nagging sexual tension in it that I find infectious.

Street's like a jungle
So call the police
Following the herd
Down to Greece
On holiday
Love in the 90's
Is paranoid
On sunny beaches
Take your chances looking for

[Chorus]
GIRLS WHO ARE BOYS
WHO LIKE BOYS TO BE GIRLS
WHO DO BOYS LIKE THEY'RE GIRLS
WHO DO GIRLS LIKE THEY'RE BOYS
ALWAYS SHOULD BE SOMEONE YOU REALLY LOVE

Avoiding all work
Because there's none available
Like battery thinkers
Count your thoughts on 1 2 3 4 5 fingers
Nothing is wasted
Only reproduced
Get nasty blisters
Du bist sehr schon
But we haven't been introduced

[Chorus]

Are there any good remixes to this song?

i've luuuurrrvved this song since it first came out. the first time i heard it on MTV, i had to run out and get the single. it reminded me of some pervy tribute to duran duran or something, with maybe a bit of bowie thrown in for fun.

Yep! thumbs up! BLUR are much underated, sweet cheeky vocals and real fine guitar, with a real British history of pop. I play their 'best of' album a lot.
~PClinuxOS~ yes I've been here longer than I care to remember, ... I drop in from time to time, ... thumbs up!

I only have their greatest hits set, i play it a lot. I usually hate greatest hits collections and don't buy many, so that says something.

i'd take Blur over Oasis anyday. Far more experimental and imaginative.

I could never understand what that was about. The two bands don't sound remotely similar. All of Oasis's albums sound alike. They've not challenged their audience once. It's the same Dad/Pub schlock time and time again. bored Although, to be fair, their first two albums were pretty good. But these days you can guess what an Oasis album is gonna sound like before you've even heard it. Blur at least showed some artistic growth and a willingness to fall on their collective arse at the expense of creating imaginative, uncommercial and (sometimes) downright weird music. You should check out the Blur and 13 albums. I reckon you'd probably like them. wink

Love Blur. That new song by The Killers reminds me of this song, only it's not very good.

nod

I'll add Think Tank to that list as well. It amazes me the growth they've shown as a band since The Great Escape.
