Favorite 4Hero tracks 4hero, the duo of DJ's Dego and Mark Mac, were one of the first jungle acts to desert hardcore breakbeats for the astral drift of jazz-fusion atmospheres, and Two Pages and Creating Patterns are fusion-soaked explorations, a combination of downtempo, R&B, jazz, and orchestral, these 4 Hero albums are indebted to Jazz and Funk luminaries like Lonnie Liston Smith, Rotary Connection and Roy Ayers. Most of the instruments are live contributions, and vocalists as wide-ranging as Terry Callier, Jill Scott, Mark Murphy, Ursula Rucker, and Digable Planets rapper Butterfly make appearances. My favorite tracks: Conceptions Golden Age Of Life Time Planetaria ( Hefner Remix) Escape That ( Off World Remix) Loveless Spirits In Transit Star Chasers Hold It Down Another Day Les Fluer Wishful Thinking " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout | |
