Stevie appeared on 'Oprah' a few months ago,and he performed several new songs from the album. At one point,Oprah even held the CD up and was bragging that she had an "advance copy".So clearly, the album is finished and all ready to go.But I think there's some drama going on at Motown right now.I'm betting that we won't see this CD until December,at the earliest.

There was a pressing of the album (the advanced copy Harpo had), but I heard that Stevie went back to re-work it after Syreeta's death. I don't know how concrete this info is, but if so it would be nice to hear some music inspired by Ms. Wright.

I think of it as an import release. I don't know when that's going 2 be officially released. www.amazon.com said it was going to be released on January 1, 2010. I'm going to look on tower records and cduniversal.com and buy it probably December. I mean June was the official release date, what happened? Did Stevie scrap the project [Edited 9/21/04 12:18pm] [Edited 9/21/04 12:18pm] Check me out and add me on:

That sounds about right.Perhaps he wanted to record a tribute song or two,in memory of Syreeta? We'll just have to be a little more patient.

[Edited 9/21/04 12:18pm] Those on-line places are cracking me up...lol...they obvioulsy don't have the "real" dates,so they're just making dates up.Come on....Friday December 31??? LOL Nobody releases a new CD on a Friday, and certainly not on a New Year's Eve!

The Syreeta tribute, or drama at Motown explanations sound the most plausible to me. Who knows, I'm just really anxious, I keep hearing this is supposed to be his best in years (I personally thought that all his albums have at least a few great songs, though I think the same of Prince)

In recent weeks, the head of Motown,Kedar Massenburg, left the label. The new head of Motown is Sylvia Rhone.Kedar is planning to start his own label and I wonder if he has taken his 2001 discovery Remy Shand with him? In any case, this change in management may explain the delays with Stevie's CD.
