Don't know how many people will remember the theme to "Love American Style". Anyways....

Love, American Style

Love, Love, Love

Love, American Style,
Truer than the Red, White and Blue.
Love, American Style,
That's me and you.

And on a star spangled night my love, (My love come to me).
You can rest you head on my shoulder.
Out by the dawn's early light, my love
I will defend your right to try.

Love, American Style,
That's me and you.

disbelief Most of those are classics and are NOT cheesy. I think we need to remember the difference between cheesy and memorable. TV tunes are done for their catchiness. I hold most of the above very dearly.

Unless of couse you were just pointing out who wrote what... wink

lol Honestly....it may be a little cheesy, but it's my fav. theme song of all time. Twillight Zone though? Another fav., but I don't think it's cheesy. Seems a little too "spacy" or "spooky" to be cheesy.

Whoa eek
An intervention is called for on many of these tunes.
Some would qualify as campy, but cheesy?

Now i'm curious as to what you'd consider a good theme song.

Family Ties -What would we do baby without this theme song? Smile.

Soap-Borders on cheesy. Like much of the Org.

Small Wonder-it freaks me the hell out, ok?

Eight is Enough-This show was just bizarre to me all around, the theme only added to it.

Charles in Charge-Obviously Charles wasn't in charge of a good theme song.

Silver Spoons-Stuck in your head fear inducing drivel.

Punky Brewster-See above.

Full House-Everywhere you look there's someone running for the exits.

Perfect Strangers-Good show, cop out 80's theme song.

Greatest American Hero-I loved this show but the theme song is a cry for help.

Most of Hamster Huey's list to me is way outta place-Barney Miller's my all time favorite theme ever! It's everything it should be.

Welcome Back, Kotter's one of those guilty pleasure themes-John Sebastian did good work.

cool

A lot of themes from the mid to late 80's really went into saccharin territory.

eek

Exactly. biggrin

Laverne and Shirley's another one that drives the show, but I've heard much much worse-that one's instantly recognizable so somebody saying it's cheesy is obviously calling themselves out as well!

People don't seem to get the difference between one you love but still make fun of a little.

You kid cause you care.

Themes mean different things to different people anyway all based around childhood or where they were in their life.

I defy anyone to tell me that Welcome Back Kotter is truly cheesy though.

It fits the show perfectly with a simple melody that's catchy but doesn't grate on your nerves.

Unlike 90% of sitcom themes.
