Whiteny Houston and Clive Davis team up for new album. It might come as no surprise to those who watched Whitney Houston perform a tribute to Clive Davis at the World Music Awards on Wednesday: The singer is reteaming with her longtime mentor and producer. Davis, who discovered Houston, will oversee her seventh studio album, which she's recording for Arista, making this the first time they've collaborated in five years.
I can't wait! It looks like this will be released next year

I don't know what to think about that... I mean, Whitney's been off the deep end for years now and I'm deathly afraid that she will release something called "Whatchulookin' At Pt II". She can't simultaneously be ghetto and pop princess like Alicia Keys.

Clive and Aretha are hooking up also.
As soon as her concert stints are done, Franklin will head back into the recording studio. She and music legend Clive Davis, chairman of BMG North America, are teaming again for her new album. "Clive and I are working on a duets (album)," she says. "I'm also going to do three or four new cuts for that." So far, she plans to sing songs with Mariah Carey and Gloria Estefan, among others. Hollywood Reporter Clive is going to be very busy juggling divas this year. Will he survive? tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

No,Clive won't take Whitney into a "ghetto" direction...lol...he will steer her more into pop territory.I bet he's already called up Diane Warren and David Foster, asking for songs. But this is great news.Clive is a much more efficient executive producer than LA Reid, and this could prove to be a major comeback for Whitney.

He's one of the few, if not the only, old-school "music based" execs left. By that I mean as opposed to the new breed accountant types. Looking forward to all three of these projects. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. It's a tragedy that she allowed herself to go down and now she is the but of jokes.
