Michael Franti & Spearhead

I've heard some of their stuff and I like it. It's very funky, with "real" instruments, and a message.

I was wondering if anyone had an opinion which album was a good starter.

Any fans out there?

oh just get em all. i was finally introduced to them with Stay Human. i didn't like it at first but after 9/11 it made sense to me. i actually think he is a modern day Bob Dylan and he knows what the heck is happening with the average person.
the acoustic Songs From The Front Porch is great too! i had the provilege of meeting them a few times (my ex was his manager outside of North America) and Michael is truly an amazing individual. did you know that he comes out after every show and hugs everyone in the audience? now that is love!

I loved the line "you can bomb the world to pieces, but you can't bomb the world to peace."

It's so simple and true, I was amazed I had never heard anyone say that before.
