Where are the maxi singles? I know someone did a thread a while back on "Where are the singles" but my question is, where are the maxi singles?
Apparantly they still exist because I hear them in the clubs. I've seen remixed versions of songs on compilation albums but I have seen very few maxi singles. Where are they? They are sure not in the record store. [Edited 9/16/04 3:30am] Andy is a four letter word.

I've got all Madonna's current ones no problem.
But i know what you mean. Amazon sells them so it's best to buy them there. I dont think they're big sellers in record stores.

But the shelves are still stocked with something. Stores recognise that spending patterns have changed. In many cases ... Artists don't sell as many singles to chart nowadays. Artists don't sell as many singles overall. Some people download music rather than spend money in stores. If people want a specific real-life import / maxi-single, there's a fair chance they can get someone other than their local friendly store to import it for them - through the internet. Stock that doesn't shift quickly = cash tied up and wasted shelf space. People spend more money on different forms of entertainment taking up similar shelf space e.g. games, DVDs. .
